Chapter 5: Adventure or Not

I swallowed down the bile that rose in my throat. As he tossed me to the ground, "I told you I would break you, Mutt, if it is the last thing I do, you will beg for me before I am done with you," and with that, he walked away. I lay there for a moment on the grass, disgusted and in immense pain, as blood trickled from many scratches and cuts to my body. I was bruised, swollen, and broken. My wolf whimpered and howled in my mind as she had done every time he assaulted us, and I cried. A few moments later, I found my feet and ran toward the nearest stream. I wanted to wash away his scent. I needed him off me. The memories and the horrible flashbacks of every time they had assaulted me since I was twelve flooded my mind. I reached the stream, dove in the water, cooled, and stung my open wounds as I bathed away, washing him from my body and mind. I swam in the stream and soaked until I saw daylight peeking over the mountain. Again, I wondered why the Moon Goddess had forsaken me. Why must I live this life of pain and sorrow? What did I ever do to deserve it? My wolf chimed in, "You must get stronger, we cannot let them keep hurting us." She was right, but I was just an average wolf with no noble blood that I knew of, and I had no special abilities as were bestowed on some wolves. Looking into the creek, I saw my reflection, my green eyes beaming and my long light brown hair flowing. I was average and weak, I thought. My wolf growled; she was becoming very angry with my thoughts. For the first time in our short relationship, she yelled at me, "Get yourself together, you are so much more!" she scolded. "How dare you think of us in such a lowly manner." With that, she blocked me and retreated in silence. How could she? I thought my only friend, the other half of me, was giving me the silent treatment. Maybe she was right; maybe I needed to become stronger and leave this place, but how? As a child, I had no idea what blood was in my veins; I paid no mind to the pack's hierarchy. My parents never spoke of their rank or title. I only knew that Draco had said I was Beta’s daughter. I wasn't sure he even really knew who I belonged to. Then it hit me I don't belong here or anywhere else. I am alone. With that, I began sobbing uncontrollably, letting out all the hurt and pain of the last ten years of my life. After what seemed like hours, I sat on the riverbank collecting myself. My wolf returned, still cranky from our earlier conversation and pacing angrily in my mind. As calm as she could, Athena said, "Eliana, listen to me, we are better than this; we would be better as a lone wolf than staying here and being tortured by those disgusting men" I nodded my head as I wholeheartedly agreed; with her. "We must run as soon as we get a chance," she coaxed. Somehow, I felt my strength swell as if I knew what to do. I returned to the packed house, stopping by the line to grab some ratty jeans and a holy tee shirt. I slipped them on and went to begin making breakfast for the pack. -Unknown Wolf P.O.V.- "Christian," I called down the hallways of the pack house. "Where are you" I yelled. "Coming, Mother," I heard from the kitchen. Of course, he was in the kitchen; I laughed to myself. Ever since that boy was born, he could eat more than his weight. Of course, now he stood 6 "5 with his father's dark brown hair and my crystal blue eyes. He looked so much like his father; it was uncanny. He was a mountain of a young man who made me proud. He gained his wolf two years ago and had yet to find his true mate. I was worried about my young Alpha. Since his father passed, my health has also been deteriorating, as happens when one loses her true mate. I just wanted him to find a suitable mate before I was gone. He does handle pack business with no problems. He is strong but kind and only ferocious when forced to be. Oh, how I miss his father, I thought to myself as he entered my line of sight, grinning ear to ear. "What is it, mother?" He asked. "Christian, I need you to take some guards tomorrow and go into town we are running short on some necessities for the pack house, and in my state, I just don't think travel is a good idea. "All right, Mother, make me a list," he replied. Then kissed my cheek and tore off toward the training room. As he hurried away, he hollered, "I love you, Mom, but I am late." I walked slowly down the hall to the kitchen, smiling; that boy was my pride and joy and had become such an amazing alpha. -Christian P.O.V.- Upon speaking with my mother, I realized I was late for training. Since my father passed, I needed to train all the males and some of the pack females in case we were attacked. I was hoping my training was for not. Still, often when a young wolf became alpha other not-so-peaceful packs would try to claim other packs for money or greed while they assumed they were weak. I was going to be prepared for anything. Good morning, Alpha. I am greeted as I come through the training room door. "Good morning, beta Derrick," I respond, mocking him a little. Derrick and I had been best friends since childhood, and I was stoked when his father retired. He became my beta but getting used to us referring to each other by title had been difficult and funny at the same time. I could no longer call him the nickname of our childhood as the pack needed us to be authoritative adults. Thankfully the mind link between us allowed for silent name-calling if we blocked the other pack members from our conversation. "Morning wanker” I heard him say through our mind link. I chuckled softly and responded in kind," Good morning, needle d**k" to that, he choked back a laugh. Boy, we were immature sometimes. "Get into your formations," I yelled at the rest of the group. Like clockwork, they were across the vast gymnasium with preassigned sparing partners. "Begin," I ordered. I strolled across the gym, watching as wolves sparred in human form. Sweep kick here, an elbow there. I was looking for standouts as the goal of this exercise was not only to make sure we were war-ready but to also add to the guard. Derrick walked alongside me as my beta. We discussed any standouts we came across through our mind link, not wanting the pack members to hear our conversation. "This one is ferocious,” he said, through our mind link as he nodded to the young pack member currently giving another the business end of a sleeper hold. I chuckled softly; the boy was merely 17 and already stood 6'2; he would surely be a fighter and possibly a Gamma. After a few hours, we dismissed the fighters and concluded training for the day. I needed a shower before lunch, so I headed to my room. After I showered, I met the others for lunch. We chatted and ate, and I was trying not to show how alone I felt. Why haven't I found her yet? My beta was mated already. As we sat, I could not help but be envious of them and their mates. I dreamed of the day I would find my love, but I was starting to get restless. I chose to save myself for my true mate. Some thought it ridiculous, but none of the women who threw themselves at me even aroused me. My friends teased me, saying I thought I was too good for s*x, but I wanted it to mean something, not that I would ever tell them that. "Christian," Derrick yelled, "Earth to Christian," I snapped out of my thoughts with a slightly startled look. "Where were you, man?" Gamma Richard asked. "Just thinking," I responded quietly. "Must have been something important to have you that far away," Derrick chimes in. I gave him a half smile but ignored the inquiry as we finished our meal in silence. After lunch, I headed to my office as Alpha my duties are never done. I spent the remainder of the evening going over finances and pack business and discussing my real business, Crescent Property Group. It was a family business and was a very profitable real estate firm. I mostly worked from this office, only going to headquarters when necessary for face-to-face meetings. Still, these days thanks to technology and Zoom meetings, I am rarely needed at the office. Which was good as being the Alpha of the Crescent Moon Pack took a lot of attention. I had dinner in my office, going over the business numbers in a Zoom meeting with my accounting team. Sales were way up at this rate; my pack would have no money issues for years. That made me elated as when my father passed, my mother was worried I would not be able to handle the business and the pack without a Luna. However, I seemed to be doing just fine. Remembering mother had wanted me to go to town the next morning, I decided to head to bed. -Eliana's P.O.V.- After whipping up a ton of pancake batter and making dozens of pancakes the pack members had been coming in waves filling their plates with fluffy pancakes for breakfast. Everyone had eaten, so I finished making one last pancake and sat down to eat. "Eliana," Draco hollered across the room as he strode over to me. "Yes, Alpha," I responded, bowing my head. I knew better to disrespect Draco in any way as he was far worse than Roman. "Roman and you will go into town this evening to gather needed supplies," he demanded. No, I thought the last thing I want is to be alone anywhere with Roman. However, disagreeing with Draco was just not something you did. I nodded my head in agreement. "Good girl," he stated before turning and walking away. I am doomed, I thought; my wolf feeling my nervousness, tried to reason with me. "This is our chance," she said. I trembled at her strength. Maybe she was right; maybe this was my chance to run. Pushing my thoughts aside, I headed through the back and ran to my cave, seeking strength for what I knew I needed to do. -Roman's P.O.V.- "Ugh," I groaned as Father told me I had to take Eliana to town this evening for supplies. "Why" I argued to no avail. "She needs to understand her place and that she will one day have to provide as your mate, this outing gives you a chance to show her you can be a good leader and a tyrant." I nodded in agreement, although I didn't know what he meant. I knew nothing I told him about her defiance, or her sneaking off to her sacred cave, had worked toward having her banished. He still expected me to make her my chosen mate. I turned to stalk away to my room, fuming. I didn't want to babysit that stupid mutt they wanted to make my mate. Then it struck me I was going to have Eliana alone. No one would be able to save her from me. I packed a few extra toys into a duffel bag and decided tonight she would beg me to stop and break, die, or both. I chuckled excitedly as the thought of breaking that stubborn mutt aroused me. She would submit or die; either way, I would no longer have a defiant woman to deal with, and she would never be my mate. I was lost in my daydreams of what I would do to Eliana. My slave walked in. "Carissa," I growled. She sauntered toward me, her scrawny frame swishing from side to side as she dropped her dress. Her small breast barely moved as she continued toward me. Once she stood in front of me, she dropped to her knees, looking up from her rightful position; she asked, "My master, can I please you, please." A low growl came from my chest. I loved how she was completely submissive, and no matter how I hurt her or roughly took all her holes, she always came back ready to serve me. I unbuttoned my jeans, my hard throbbing member slapping against her chin, and she only moved to give me more access to her face. "Good Girl," I growled at her "suck me hard," I commanded. She opened her mouth on command, hollowed her cheeks, and took me into her mouth, sucking as if her life depended on it. I moaned low, grabbing the back of her head; I began roughly taking her mouth; the more she gagged, and tears streamed down her face, the harder I got. I took her mouth hard and fast, and she took it all, closing her throat as I intruded, sucking my prick so hard my eyes rolled into the back of my head. "That's it, swallow it all, take my c*m in your mouth," she moaned against me, sucking harder as I thrust in and out, holding her head in my hands. I moaned loudly as I shot my hot seed into her mouth, and she swallowed it all. I pulled her to her feet, kissing her hard and fast, then released her. She quietly gathered her clothes and left without a word. God, I loved that slave, I thought, as Carissa left me satisfied. "Let's go, mutt," I called to Eliana; as she ran toward my car, I got excited watching her curves coming toward me. Oh, what am I going to do to her tonight? I thought as she rounded to enter the passenger seat. “Buckle Up,” I reminded her. She shot me a usual look of disgust and fastened her belt. I started the car and pulled out of the drive. As we hit the highway I turned my music up to be alone with my thoughts.
