Chapter 11: Alexis

6 Weeks Later

I had my doubts about coming back home, but I am glad I did. Jayden is amazing with the boys and a week after he met them, he asked me to move into his house as the boys wanted to be around him all the time. Also it gave my brothers their peace back. When we got to his house, he took the boys to their rooms. When he opened up the door to Kai’s room, I was shocked to see that he had the room painted and furnished for Kai. Kai’s favorite animal is a wolf. So, Jay had gone and painted a mural on one of the walls. It was a mural of a forest at nighttime with a full moon overhead and the night sky covering the roof and a pack of wolves running together. There was a twin bed for him with a Bluey quilt cover on it and a gray and white wolf teddy, a bookcase, and toys. He had set the room up exactly the way Kai had described how he would love to have his room. We left Kai playing in his room and took Killian to his next.

Killian was overexcited and opened the door before Jay could. Laughing at the pout on Jay’s face as we walked into the room. Kilian’s squeal caught my attention, and I gasped when I saw his room. Killian loves anything to do with space and Jayden had gone and painted his room with different things that are found in space. The roof had been painted with galaxies, the Milky Way, and different constellations on it. Then on one of the walls he had the solar system painted. He also had a twin bed with a Bluey quilt cover and the same wolf teddy as Kai’s except Killian’s was black, toys, a bookcase and more. Jayden had really outdone himself. Leaving Killian in his room, we headed back to the kitchen to make some lunch.

After that night, when Jayden found out about the boys, we decided to tell my brothers everything we had found out and how it all came back to Angie interfering. My brothers were angry and when Jessa found out, she wanted to hunt her down and make her pay. We all managed to talk Jessa out of that one.

The weekends have been busy since I got here. Jessa comes over and sometimes Lily, Ryder’s mum, does as well, and we work through what is needed for the wedding. Now that she has a month to go, she is starting to stress more. Thankfully, most of the important things are done. We found her a dress she loves, the church is booked, a DJ, photographer, flowers, suits, cars etc. are all sorted. The reception will be held at Ryder’s grandmother's vineyard estate. Rose was elated when they asked her.

After everything came to light about Angie’s involvement, Jayden asked her why she did it and showed her the evidence. He waited till he had gone home to a family dinner with both families and made sure to bring it up in front of everyone so she couldn’t lie her way out of it. She denied it but once the evidence was shown she couldn’t lie anymore. She sprouted some bullshit about how it was always supposed to be her and Jayden together. That she had loved him since she was eight. When she told her mother she wanted to marry Jayden when she was old enough, her mother said that she could. She said that what she wants she gets. As far as she is concerned, Jayden is hers and no one else’s.

He ended up telling her she was delusional, and she needed psychiatric help fast.

Kate tried backing Angie, saying that they had everything for his and Angie’s wedding already planned and that all they needed was a date to make it happen. Jayden couldn’t believe his ears when he heard that. Micah even stepped in and told his mom that she shouldn’t be making these decisions for Jayden to marry without his consent. Kate said that she didn’t care and that her marriage was arranged, so she decided to do that so her son could marry into a prominent family and not marry some little photographer with no standing in the community.

That it was good for the family business. Jayden was disgusted listening to his mom. He said that no way in hell was he going to go through with it. He had everything he needed. He had his job as an assistant coach that he loved, he had gotten to where he was without their help or money. He put himself through college on an athletic scholarship, worked his ass off for everything he got. Then he decided that he was going to let them know about my return. Jay told them that the things that he needed the most he finally got.

He looked his mother dead in the eye and said:

“I don’t know why you hated Lexi so much, but I am letting you know now that she is back in town and has been for about 8 weeks now. When I ran into her again, I begged her to let me have a chance to talk to her. She agreed. When she found out that it was all an elaborate setup on Angie’s behalf, she was furious. We have talked and worked everything out, and she is currently staying with me. But I am going to say one last thing before I leave. Leave her alone. I will make you pay if you don’t. We are getting back what we lost and especially the time I lost. Thanks to your stunt, Angie, I missed the first 3 years of my twins’ lives.

When Lexi did try to reach out to me, because of you, she wasn’t able to get a hold of me. There were a few times that she called, that it was an emergency. I missed being at the birth of my boys thanks to you, you stupid b***h. I am done with all of you except Micah. Leave me and my family alone.”

That was the last time that he talked to his mother. He told me that his dad had reached out to him and apologized for not doing anything to stop his mom from pressuring him into a relationship with Angie and that he was happy that Jayden had found me again and if possible he would love to get to know his grandsons one day. We have discussed it and on the weekend when we have some free time, we are all going to go for a picnic in the park, so that Trenton can finally meet the boys.
