Cia's words hung in the air, heavy with threat. Kael's eyes darted, trapped. Maya's wolf growled, understanding sparking. 'You orchestrated the attack on her sister. Why?' Kael's smile was twisted. 'She was weak. I needed leverage.' Cia's hands curled into fists. 'You used her as bait for the Wolves of Midnight.' The room darkened, Roxi's voice low. 'What happened to her?' Cia's gaze never left Kael. 'Dead. Because of him.' Kael's smirk faltered as Cia's eyes burned with a cold fury. 'You took my sister's life,' Cia said, voice low, 'and now you're going to pay.' Maya's wolf watched, a silent guardian. Roxi shifted, ready to intervene if needed. Cia's wolf surged forward, pinning Kael down. He snarled, fear creeping into his eyes. 'Pack decision,' Maya said, her voice firm. 'Exile. Or face the challenge.' Kael's gaze darted, trapped. Cia's smile was cruel. 'Challenge,' she said, her voice icy. The pack formed a circle, the air thick with tension. Cia and Kael faced off, their wolves snarling. Maya's voice was low. 'To the death.' The crowd's roar was deafening as the wolves clashed. Cia's speed met Kael's brute strength, their growls echoing. Roxi's eyes were fixed on the fight. 'Cia's got this,' she murmured. Kael's jaws snapped, but Cia dodged, her claws raking his flank. He stumbled, rage in his eyes. With a final pounce, Cia pinned him. Kael's wolf whined, submitting. Cia's jaws closed, swift and merciless. The pack fell silent. Cia's wolf stood over Kael's lifeless form, her chest heaving. The pack's silence was heavy, then erupted into a mix of cheers and gasps. Maya's wolf approached Cia, a nod of respect. 'You avenged her.' Cia's eyes still burned, her wolf slowly retreating. 'Justice,' she growled, human now, shaking. Roxi wrapped a blanket around her. 'Welcome back to the pack.' The crowd parted, a path to the alpha's den. Maya's voice was low. 'Cia, you're in.' Cia's gaze met Maya's, a nod. 'Thanks.' Cia pulled away, her expression twisting in a mix of grief and guilt. 'It's not over,' she said, her voice cracking. The pack exchanged uneasy glances. 'What do you mean?' Maya asked. Cia's eyes dropped. 'I... I worked with Kael. He promised me info on my sister's killer. I didn't know he'd go this far.' Roxi's face fell. 'Cia, why?' Cia's laugh was bitter. 'I wanted justice. I got blind .' The pack's silence was heavy, Maya's wolf watching Cia with a mix of anger and understanding. Maya's wolf took a slow step forward, her eyes piercing. 'You played us,' she said, voice low. 'Why should we trust you?' Cia flinched, her shoulders sagging. 'I messed up. I want to make it right.' Roxi's expression was skeptical. 'How?' Cia's gaze lifted, a spark of determination in her eyes. 'I have info on the Wolves of Midnight. I can help take them down.' The pack exchanged looks. Maya's wolf growled softly. 'We need to discuss this.' The pack retreated, leaving Cia alone, the weight of her choices sinking in. The pack reconvened, their faces somber. Maya's eyes locked onto Cia. 'Alright, you've got a chance to make it right. What's the plan?' Cia took a deep breath. 'I've been tracking the Wolves of Midnight. I know their next target – the alpha meeting in three days.' Roxi's brow furrowed. 'How do you know this?' Cia hesitated. 'I... I was deep undercover. I have intel.' The pack exchanged skeptical glances. Maya's wolf growled softly. 'We need proof.' Cia nodded, pulling out a phone. 'I recorded a conversation.' The pack listened, jaws clenched, as Sergei's voice played, plotting the alpha m******e . The pack's tension was palpable as the recording ended. Maya's eyes were hard. 'This is serious. We need to move.' Roxi nodded. 'Agreed. We can't let them hit the meeting.' Cia's face was set. 'I've got a plan. We can intercept them, take out Sergei.' The pack's wolves stirred, ready for action. Maya's voice was low. 'Let's do it.' The room buzzed with strategy, the pack moving in sync. Cia's eyes locked onto Maya's. 'I'm in.' Maya's nod was brief. 'You've got a shot at redemption.' The night air was thick with tension as the pack converged on the abandoned warehouse, their target – the Wolves of Midnight. Cia led the way, her senses on high alert. Maya's wolf padded beside her, eyes scanning the shadows. 'Sergei's inside,' Cia whispered. Roxi's voice was low. 'Pack's in position.' With a nod, Maya gave the signal. The pack burst in, wolves snarling. Chaos erupted. Sergei's pack was caught off guard, but they fought back hard. Cia took down a burly wolf, her claws swift. Maya's jaws closed around a throat, her wolf fierce. Roxi's growls echoed, the pack overwhelming the Wolves. The fight raged on, wolves clashing in a whirlwind of fur and fury. Cia's wolf dodged a blow, striking back with precision. Sergei's eyes locked onto her – recognition sparked. 'Cia!' he snarled, lunging. Maya's wolf intercepted, her jaws closing around Sergei's shoulder. He howled, swinging wildly. Roxi pinned a wolf down, her eyes flashing to Cia. 'Finish him!' Cia's wolf surged forward, her growl deep. Sergei's eyes went wide as she pinned him. 'For my sister,' she whispered, her jaws closing. The fight subsided, the pack's wolves panting, victorious. Cia stood over Sergei's lifeless form, her chest heaving. Maya approached, a nod of approval. As the adrenaline wore off, Cia's gaze met Alex's – a quiet strength in his eyes. He'd fought beside her, their wolves a perfect sync. The pack retreated, sensing something. Maya smiled softly. 'We'll scout ahead.' Cia's cheeks flushed as Alex approached, his voice low. 'You fought well.' Cia's smile was shy. 'You weren't bad yourself .' Alex's eyes crinkled. 'Want to get out of here?' Cia's heart skipped. 'Yeah.' The moon cast a silver glow as they walked, the forest quiet. Alex's hand brushed Cia's, sending sparks. They shared a look, then his fingers intertwished with hers. They reached a secluded clearing, the stars above. Alex turned, his eyes intense. 'I've wanted to do this.' He leaned in, his lips meeting Cia's. The world melted – their wolves' gentle hum, the forest's whisper. Cia's heart soared. This – this was home. The kiss deepened, Cia's senses swirling. Alex's arms wrapped around her, pulling her close. They broke apart, gasping. Alex's eyes locked onto Cia's. 'I've wanted this for so long,' he whispered. Cia smiled, her heart racing. 'Me too.' Their lips met again, the world fading away. The forest whispered secrets, their wolves' gentle hum a perfect harmony. In this moment, nothing else mattered. Just them, the moon, and the stars. Their kiss was like the moon – gentle, luminous, and endless. Cia felt her wolf's joy, a contented sigh in her mind. Alex's hands craded her face, his thumbs tracing her cheeks. He pulled back, eyes sparkling. 'You're incredible,' he whispered. Cia's smile was shy, but her wolf was bold. She leaned in, nipping his lip. Alex's growl was low, his arms tightening. The stars twinkled above, witnesses to their quiet storm. Cia's heart beat wild – this was it. Just as Cia's heart soared, a snap echoed through the forest – a twig breaking, footsteps approaching. Alex's head snapped up, his eyes wolf-green. 'Someone's here,' he growled, pushing Cia behind him. The bushes parted, a lone figure emerging. Maya's eyes scanned the clearing, landing on Cia and Alex. 'Pack business,' she said, her voice neutral. But her gaze lingered, a hint of a smile. Cia's cheeks flushed. Had Maya seen? Maya's eyes held Cia's for a beat, then she turned to Alex. 'We need you back at the pack. Now.' Alex's jaw clicked, but he nodded. 'What's going on?' 'A challenge,' Maya said, her voice low. 'Roxi's alpha instincts are flaring. She's calling you out, Alex.' Cia's eyes widened. 'What? Why?' Maya's expression was serious. 'She thinks you're not ready to lead with her.' Alex's face set. 'I'll handle it.' Cia's grip on Alex's arm tightened. 'You're not going to fight her, are you?' Alex's gaze locked onto hers, a silent understanding passing. 'I have to. It's pack law.' Maya nodded. 'Roxi's got backup. You need to show strength.' Alex's eyes flashed wolf-green. 'I'll show her .'
