Cora woke up feeling like someone was staring at her. Pillows flew from the bed as she shot up out of bed, eyes searching the room in terror as though Jagson had dove down and come for her. She stood from the bed and peeked under it, relief washing over her that she was in fact alone. Feeling a little silly, Cora walked over to the large window. She could see it was a thick slab of glass, the water outside was a grayish hue, the sun hadn’t yet risen completely overhead. Small fish and other creatures she didn’t know the name of swam past her. Her gaze traveled downward and she realized, to her surprise, that she was looking out over a small city under the water.
