Chapter Six

She was debating with herself over her decision the whole night and was worried to put his life in danger. She was turning on her back after every few minutes. She threw the pillow in frustration and sat on the mattress. She turned on the lights. She stared out of the window and plucked the second pillow. She hugged it.       She got the knock on the door, "Pumpkin. "Her brother said.     "I'm awake, brother. But I don't wanna talk. "She said loudly.     Door clicked open. Bryan took a step and his feet hit the pillow that she recently propelled. He picked it from the floor and walked toward her. He sat near her.       "You are upset with me. "He said, putting the pillow next to her.      She was upset with herself. It was she who was the reason for all this, "No. "She whispered.      "You'll not regret it. "He said to her.      She wasn't sure it'd work or not? One mistake and she could be the cause of all's death including her family and Jason. Who had nothing to do with it.         She saw her brother staring at her. "Okay. "She whispered.      "I'm here until you fall asleep. "Bryan patted her cheek.      She smiled. She remembered that time when her mother passed away. Her brother sat beside her, holding her hand until she fell asleep. She closed her eyes and felt the light strokes on her head. She slept instantly.         "Diana, wake up. It's your wedding. "Amelia shook her shoulder.         "Go away, Amelia. Let me sleep. "She muttered.        "O Jason, you got ready. "She heard Amelia.       She snapped open her eyes and sat on the mattress with wider eyes. She gazed at the door. It was closed, "Very funny. "She threw the pillow at her.      She dodged it, "Accept it. You like him. I've seen it in your eyes. "Amelia smirked.     Her every word was correct. Indeed she dreamt about him. She didn't want to jeopardize his life, "You are daydreaming. "She said.       "Here's your wedding dress. Come on! Get up Diana. It's a simple ceremony. You've to sign the marriage papers and then you both can sign the contract. You can add anything you want. "Amelia said, uncovering the windows.      "It's horrible. "She patted her head on the pillow and propelled it aimlessly. It hit someone's shiny shoes.      "Good morning, pumpkin. Wake up. "Her brother ruffled her hair, coming at her side.      She didn't want to do this. Her eyes got misty, "Hey! Are you crying? "Amelia gave her a shocking look.     She immediately covered it behind her mischief face, "I'm not. You guys are disturbing my sleep and me. "She wrinkled her lips.      "If you're not getting up. I'm scared. I've to arrange everything in this room. You will marry in your favourite pajamas. "He pointed with his fingers at her pajamas which were printed with her favorite childhood cartoon character Jerry.       She angrily got up from the mattress and grabbed the dress from her. She wanted to yell and tell: I hate you. But all were doing it to keep her away from harm.        "I'm waiting downstairs."her brother said with a smile.       She walked toward the washroom. Before locking the door she glared at Amelia's smiling face. She turned the shower on. Her thoughts were still occupied with her family, Jason and Atkinson. What would he do after knowing? Would he kill all or leave her alone?         She was in shoulder less white silk wedding gown. Her hair was in a loose bun, dark brown curls were kissing her bare skin of shoulders and cheeks. Amelia was playing the role of her makeup artist for today. She bent her head and squinted at the mirror. She could see braids around the bun.         "You like it? "Amelia asked with a smile.        "You put makeup on my skin in a large quantity. "She picked up a tissue and tried to run on her face.       Amelia caught her hands, "It's your wedding Dive. You are looking adorable. You'll spoil my hard work. "Amelia scolded her.       "I hate you Amelia. I don't use makeup, you know it. "She stood up, "And I hate this dress. "She yelled.      "Your brother is going to hear you downstairs and your future husband too. "Amelia folded her arms and glared at her. She stopped ahead of her and pinched her cheeks, grabbing it between her fingers and thumbs.       "Ouch! You're cruel. What are you doing? "She yelled.      "You need to blush, Diana and you are not going to allow me to apply makeup. "She smirked.       "You are insane. "She yelled again.       "Girls! Have you done with your cat fight? " Bryan turned the knob of the door and paced inside.      "Pajamas were the best idea. "She said slowly.      "You are looking beautiful. "Bryan kissed her forehead and hugged her, "Makeup is perfect. It's not over. "he said before pulling back.      "I still hate it. "She blurted.       "Bride should be happy on this special day. "Bryan said.      "Like this! "She spread her lips in a huge smile and pointed at her lips with her first finger.       "We should go. "Amelia said.       "Eager to kick me out. "She glared at her. Amelia's smile was telling how happy she was.            She was scared of going away from her family as she found peace and security behind these walls. Still she decided to face alone his hatred and Atkinson. She was hoping his hatred and bullet would be only for her when he'd find this betrayal.         "You ready? "Bryan asked her.         "Yes, I guess."She replied nervously.     Amelia handed her her purse. She held the purse in her hands. But didn't forget to stare at her.           Glancing at herself in the mirror, she walked out of her room. She reached the parking lot of the personal property of his brother. She didn't want to waste time getting late to go to the court for it. Her eyes were finding Jason, "Ja........ "She forgot her words when she gazed at the car and at him standing near the car. He was looking as some civil and graceful personality, which was recently grabbed back from a beast. His wild beard was gone. He was looking natty and dashing in black suit.            His body was showing anxiety but his eyes were telling another tale as he had got his long awaited prey. He was looking amazingly handsome in his wedding black suit. His honey colored eyes added more charm to him. Once you lay your eyes on his eyes. It was hard to look away. You have to struggle yourself, ' which she is doing right now. '        He opened the door for her. She got in. "Thank you. "she mumbled.       He jumped in the front seat and her brother got in the driving seat. Amelia sat next to her. Bryan drove the car to the court.       She never considered this white dress day would be part of her life. She was hoping it would go according to her plan. If Atkinson killed him. She wouldn't be able to live with this burden.      When they reached the Court. She sighed deeply while staring out, "Diana, come."Amelia opened the door.        "You must be happy. You are getting rid of me. "She said through clenched teeth.        "Yes, I'm. I was waiting for this day when I…."She stopped saying, "I think. I need to use the washroom."She said.       "Yeah! Sure and flushed out yourself. "She sarcastically said.        Amelia glared at her and paced toward her husband. She whispered something in Bryan's ear. Bryan nodded at her.         She drifted away her eyes from them and found Jaxon's eyes fixed on her. She raised her left eyebrow. He immediately shifted his eyes. She smiled.       At least, I can rule over this handsome man.       "Let's go pumpkin."Bryan smiled.      "Sure, "She nodded. Her heels were making thud noise every time when it collided with the white marble floor. He was walking along with her. She was careful not to touch him. Normally when he touched her, her body tingled. She didn't want to feel it again.         They were in the marriage register office. She refused to say any word. Bryan told her to put the ring in his hand and nodded her head if the man in black coat asked her anything. She agreed.           After saying yes, she put the platinum band around his thick finger. His hand slipped in his pocket and it came out with a blue velvet small box. He opened the box. There was a solitaire round diamond in the center and it was covered with canary diamonds, giving it a flower pattern.         "Wao! So pretty."she stared at the ring with a smile. After watching the ring, she was sure some tragedy had emphatically happened to him.         "This is my mother's ring. You'll not mind ma'am if I make it to put ring on your finger. "He innocently asked her that she couldn't say no to him.       So the ring was the only best thing since morning and of course, Jason who wasn't mine, she thought.      "Sure, "She smiled with astonishment, "I'll give it back to you after. "She jutted her head to one side. He stared at her and didn't utter anything.       He took hold of her hand. It was a light touch. He slid the ring in her ring finger. She astounded at its fitting in her ring finger as the maker had taken the measure of her finger before creating it.        She turned to sign the papers. "I want to read it. "She asked her brother.       "Sure, pumpkin."Bryan smiled.       It was as she demanded. She put the papers on the table and grabbed the pen from the man. Abruptly something pricked on her elbow.         "Ouch! "She spun around.         "Sorry, ma'am. Its button plucked. I put a safety pin. It just..."Jason trailed.          "There is an extra button. "She gazed at his sleeve. She gave him the pen to hold. He took it between his fingers. She removed the pin and buttoned it. She didn't want to meet his gaze. She directly looked behind him. She roamed her eyes and found her brother, talking on his phone. She waited for him.        "Sorry, it was important. "Her brother said, striding in. His wife came along with him. They walked straight up at her.         "Seriously, it's my wedding, brother. "She rolled her eyes.         Jason stared at her hearing it. His eyes burned into her. She instantly looked away. She began to panic that it was just more than a contract marriage.          "I'm here now. "Bryan smiled.       She shook her head nervously. She took the pen from him and instantly signed the papers. She gave it to him. He took the pen and signed it. She could feel heat from his body on her back. There was merely little space between them.         "Congratulations, "Amelia screamed and hugged her tightly.        "Thanks, "She forced the words out of her lips.       "You didn't kiss your bride, "Amelia said to Jason.        "Before he could, you jumped in to congratulate her. "her brother said to his wife, tugging her toward him with a smile.        He took one long stride and stopped right in front of her with less gap between their bodies.        ' Crap! I didn't think about it. ' She froze on her spot.        She glared at Amelia. Amelia shrugged and smiled. Her eyes turned on him. Her heart began to race. His lips turned into a coyly smile and then parted. His face reached toward her face. His honey colored eyes took her in usual intensity but with great mystery. She tightly shut her eyes as he leaned in. She breathed in deeper, inhaling his scent. She felt his soft red lips on her cheek. He slightly brushed it. Her stomach gave a flip. She opened her eyes, when she felt his lips not on her. She saw him standing where he was before.         "Oh! So cute. "Amelia chuckled.       Although he was standing two steps away from her. Still she could feel his lips on her cheek. Her heart was pounding like crazy.         "Congratulations,"Her brother hugged her. She wanted to smack Amelia for starting this congratulation's slogan. She couldn't resist herself from glaring at her again.        "Yeah, thanks. "She muttered again.        "I know, you will take care of my sister."Her brother said to Jason, getting emotional.        "No doubt, sir. "Jason said.         "Well! Your car is waiting outside. "Amelia smiled. Amelia was looking extremely happy as she always wanted her to be in her husband's house instead of with them. "Here's the keys. "She extended her hand toward Jason.         "I don't know how to drive, ma'am. "Jason said, making them surprised.         "He's kidding. "Amelia nervously smiled.         She stared at both. She was done with the drama, "Give it to me. "She grabbed the keys from Amelia's hand and she walked straight out, didn't glance at her back at anyone. She could not believe herself, she had done this.
