Chapter Two

1385 Words
Isabella Lorenzo was sitting opposite me, typing aggressively on his computer and I was starting to rethink my decisions. Maybe I shouldn't have come here, I should have just stayed at an hotel all alone and wet my pillow with tears. "Is there anyway I can help you? You've been standing there for ten minutes now without saying anything." He said, his eyes never leaving his computer. My legs were glued to the floor, his pale blue eyes probing intently into mine void of emotions. I couldn't help but stare back in fear, legs wobbly. If I wanted revenge, I had to start by eliminating fear. "Your girlfriend is with another man right now." I finally said, my eyes never leaving his even when I couldn't take his deep stare. He didn't seem to flinch, he kept that straight expression, "You mean your sister?" His deep voice was heavenly and could make any woman fall to her knees. "Step-sister," I corrected and nodded gently, "That's why I'm here, I think-" Before I could finish, he cut me off curtly then sighed deeply. His forehead creased and for a brief second, he looked confused then it vanished. I swore I noticed confusion in his expression for a second. Immediately, he stood up then walked closer to me. His long legs looked sexy, when he was close enough to hear me breathe, he paused for a while, "I'll finish this for you, now you want me to break up with her and date you right?" Before I could even answer, he continued. "I actually thought you were better than this. I once felt pity for you, but I should have known you are no better than your so-called sister." I clenched my fists in anger, I didn't come here so he could ridicule me and begin feeling pity for me. It was absurd. I glared, "We aren't that close enough for you to feel pity for me, so please don't." I rubbed my temples. Maybe it was a bad idea coming to him while foolishly thinking he would want revenge as much as I do, I shouldn't have involved him in any of this in the first place. "It was a bad idea coming here, I'll leave." I turned, but he grabbed my waist gently, pulling my face closer to his. I was flustered, my heart was racing, there was no space between us anymore that I could feel his hot breath and his facial features became more sharper. Heat gathered below my stomach and I was trying so hard not to flinch. My breath hitched when his hand cupped my waist harder; steady and gentle. I felt the warmth of his breath gently brushing my skin. His sharp jawline made him look sexier, his long lashes brushed his face anytime he slowly blinked. His pale blue eyes eyed my body. A faint curved smile crept on his lips that looked almost too perfect which made my chest tighten. My heart was beating so fast that I couldn't control it. It seemed like the time stopped for a while. Lorenzo's warm body was slowly pressing onto mine, his eyes still on my body and his hot breath kept brushing against my skin making my hairs stand. He cupped my chin, gently closing his eyes and pulling my chin closer to his. No! I shouldn't do this, I wasn't ready, I haven't even established my revenge plan to him, but again, I couldn't resist his charm. I stretched my hand and it hit a glass of alcohol which startled me. The glass fell to the ground and shattered into pieces, the room reeked of alcohol. He didn't quiver, but he dropped my chin and focused on the shattered pieces of glass on the floor. "That was my favourite one." Again, his voice was void of emotions. No disappoinment, no remorse. "I'm sorry, I- I'll clean this up." I stammered, I just needed to get out of his sight. "Don't bother, I'll have someone else clean this up. Besides, we have unfinished business." A cruel smirk crept up his lips and disappeared almost immediately, and for the first time ever, his eyes flashed out of excitement. I don't know if he ever showed this side of him to Camilla but for two years that I've known him, he was always stiff as a board with no emotions whatsoever. I needed a better excuse to get out of here, I was losing my mind and I can't stay another minute in here. "I need to wash my hands, it's stained with alcohol." He came closer to me again, "Well, it's a good thing that it's my favorite alcohol too." Before I could process what he said, he grabbed my palm, pressed it against his lips then to his tongue and licked it. My pulse quickened, did he just lick my hand with the excuse of saying it was his favorite alcohol? My eyes widened in shock, I tried stepping back to breathe and process everything that was happening so fast but his nearness and eyes fixation made it impossible to think. Nonetheless, I staggered backwards, worry visible on my face. A deep frown settled on his face and he squinted his eyes, he pushed his lips into a thin line then rubbed his temples. "Isn't this what you wanted?" His thick, cold voice resurfaced. My heart continued beating fast and I couldn't keep it under control. I was quiet, I couldn't even come up with anything to say. I just stood there, eyes on the floor, staring at the shattered pieces of glass. They were similar to me, that was how my life was. Shattered pieces of trash that was abandoned. He scoffed, then took one slow step towards me, his eyes never left mine. His eyes were intense like a predator ready to devour it's prey. Each step he took made my heart beat faster, and without realizing it, I took a step backwards, matching his pace. Soon enough, my back hit the cold wall behind me and at that moment, I knew I was screwed. A smile of satisfaction crept up on his lips. He closed the last bit of distance between us, placing his hand beside my head and the other hand pressing my arm lightly. He didn't have to say a word, his facial expression said it all; hate. He glared, his pale blue eyes pierced into mine as if he wanted to devour me. Slowly, he parted his lips, "People like you disgusts me. They act all naive and innocent meanwhile they're devilish." "What?" I immediately replied in anger. He could say anything to me, but calling me naive and innocent then still going ahead to call me devilish was unacceptable. He was quiet, trying to read my expression. I tried to push him away but he dropped my hand instead. "Look, I came here because I thought we might have the same goal; revenge." His frown deepened, "And why would I want revenge on someone?" I couldn't take this anymore, he was impossible to reason with. I shouldn't have come here in the first place, I should have just stayed home, now here I was, regretting. "I already told you but you failed to listen to me. I went to my fiance's house, and guess who I caught with him on the bed, my sister, your girlfriend. They didn't realize my presence even till when I left. We were cheated on." He didn't seem fazed. What did I even expect? For him to become angry and blindly agree to get revenge? How foolish of me! "And why would I believe what a sly person is saying?" He continued, "What if you're just jealous of your sister and wants to tarnish her reputation?" I freed myself from his grip, my fear was replaced with courage and I kept a straight face, "First of all, she's my step-sister. Secondly, It's your choice on whether you want to believe me or not. And if you eventually do, you can give me a call and we'll talk." I dipped my hands into my pocket and handed my business card to him. He was hesitant. I grabbed my bag, dropped my business card on his table and walked away.
