Chapter 18

Tyr

I stayed awake to watch Aurora sleep. Draco kept me company. Having her in my arms was bliss and I prayed to the Goddess this doesn't disappear. I would respect Aurora if she wanted me to move away from her and go back to how we was before.

Aurora started to stir waking up. Her eyes were puffy from crying in my arms earlier. When she opened her eyes she looked straight at me, a smile going across her face.

"Thank you for staying with me Tyr." I just squeezed her tighter to me.

"I'm so sorry Tyr, I have been a right horrible cow. I hope you can forgive me?" She looked straight into my eyes, seeing the guilt in hers.

"There is nothing to forgive mate, I hope you can forgive me, I feel I have upset you." Aurora laughed at me, making my brows furrow.

"My silly dragon, you haven't upset me, I upset me. I have been so horrible to you, I put it in my head to not accept you as I was a chosen for you. I pushed you away, I would have understood if you wanted to reject me, I have been so selfish with my feelings I forgot about yours. I let this curse stop me from listening to the signs and think" Putting my forehead to Aurora's I closed my eyes enjoying this moment.

"You could never push me away mate, I would have always been there even if you did reject me, I would have watched over you always." Aurora stroked my cheek her eyes filling with tears again.

"I guess I need to open up, it won't excuse my behaviour, but it will give you an understanding to me." Nodding for her to carry on, Aurora told me everything.

"I was born in the original Palace, to the King and Queen. Growing up was hard as making friends, they only wanted to know me for status and see what I could do for them. When I hit 12 the new king in the second kingdom, took an interest in me. I resembled his dead wife. He had to wait for me to turn 20 before he would be allowed to court and marry me." Aurora took a deep breath and then carried on.

"The curse I have got placed on me in case my mate was a fairy. I was isolated only seeing my parents and sister. Not even the staff was allowed to be my side of the palace. After I turned 19 I found out about the curse and how the king wasn't my mate as he claimed." Trying to keep quiet was hard, Draco was snarling in my head.

"I ran to the portal and asked it to take me anywhere. I was spat into the human world. Wondering for a time, I finally settled in this town. Getting a job was hard. The only place who would take me was the club you found me at. I have learned my whole life I had been lied to me. I was only good for them getting something out of me. When you said I was your mate, I didn't want to accept as the king said I was his mate. I knew it not to be true. I had accepted I would be alone for the rest of my life. Also being taught that shifters chose their mates I panicked that you were doing just that. I had to run."

Wow, I knew Aurora had been through stuff, but this was a lot. Her whole life she has had no one to rely on, maybe just her sister as she accepted her with open arms.

I thought through with what she said, "Aurora I promise I will never lie to you. It would hurt me to do so. Anything you want to know you just need to ask." Aurora thanked me and hugged me tight.

Draco was doing back flips in my head, now understanding our mate. How has Aurora been through so much mental abuse and still be a good person? I may sound bias as she is my mate, but spending the week with her, she showed her kindness. She is so strong and everything I asked for. I guess I enjoyed the challenge at first that she didn't fall into my arms making me earn her, then I gave up to quick like Elin said. I had to go off and lick my wounds. To sulk.

Aurora told me more of her life and everything she done on a day-to-day basis. I regret not pursuing her more, but happy I respected her boundaries. I know Draco and I thought about her rejecting us with words, but we didn't know where we stood. Now I have a better understanding of my mate, I can see why she was this way.

"Let's just get to know each other, I can go down grab some food and we can spend the day together in here, and before you ask, your sister is with Erik, she is his mate." Aurora agreed with the plans.

I ran down to the kitchen and made us both a sandwich, grabbing some crisps, chocolate and popcorn because why not. I have a TV in the room if we wanted to watch some movies.

Before I could run up the stairs with everything my dad stopped me.

"It's good to see you eating again son. Are you both ok now?" Dad had to take the packs of crisps out of my mouth to be able to speak.

"We are good dad, Aurora has told me her story. I understand why she was the way she was. I think she has now accepted me. Whoever spoke to her, I owe them big time." Dad helped me carry up the food and patted me on the back, winking at Aurora and left the room.

We both finally had our first meal in days. I was able to keep it down having Aurora next to me.

Aurora asked about my life growing up, she couldn't believe I was a Prince and how come I never told her. This caused me to get embarrassed running my hand through my hair, I explained I was going to tell her, I was just building up to it.

Aurora really liked my parents and grandparents. I told her she still needs to meet my dad's parents and let me tell you how different they are to my mum’s parents. Dad's mum was born out of royalty, and she would love to meet Aurora.

Dad's parents have gone on holiday and took my siblings with them, to give a chance for me and Elin to find our mates. Also to give mum and dad a break as they wouldn't stop going on about meeting our mates, hopefully they will be next finding, I'm sure dad got grey hairs.

Not wanting to wait longer for Aurora to meet Elin I rang the pack phone to see if she was available. My mum's adopted dad answered and I spoke with him. I had to explain Aurora needs to also meet mum's adopted parents my other grandparents.

Elin finally came to the phone. "You two finally accept each other?" Elin always knew what was, she had the gift of foresight, sometimes it was just clips of things.

"Yep, now can you get on a computer and and do a video, I want you to meet the special lady in my life." Elin got grandpa to switch on and do a video call to my laptop I set up.

Elin came on the screen finally meeting my mate. Elin was happy for us, and I could see she was unhappy. I asked her about this getting ready to fly over when Elin told me she will be heading back tomorrow.

In the back round a "like f**k you will" could be heard. Elin put on her stern face, and told me she needed to go, cutting off the call before I could find out who it is.

Being twins I pushed at her mind link, it was weak as we were far apart, but still got through, to catch her arguing with someone. I spoke through the mind link ‘I am coming over I don't give a f**k’ when suddenly Elin shouted back ‘NO!’ Then closed the mind link.

Elin means business when she is abrupt. Aurora said I can go if I want, I felt torn. Aurora has just opened up to me and is happy to spend time with me, but Elin is my twin. Aurora suggested to leave Elin today and if she doesn't come home tomorrow we could visit the next day. Settling down with that I accepted. I pushed in to Elin's mind again and told her this. She now has a heads up, and she can give her mate a heads up, I will kill him if he has hurt her in anyway. She is my baby sister.
