Chapter 17

1586 Words
Tyr The next morning as I was getting ready to head out to the old Pinewood pack I got told about reports of suspicious activity have been going on around all the tribes. I volunteered to investigate as I needed to be out of the house. I told everyone not to say anything about where I am as I didn't want Aurora to worry. I have been thinking about what Draco said. It would have been kinder for her to reject us out right. Draco is still hoping for Aurora to accept us, but her leaving us in limbo is killing us. Not just emotional but physical as well. I'm not able to eat and sleep, I feel like s**t. Only a few hours of sleep here and there, forcing food down when mum makes us, only to throw it up later. When mates don't accept each other and leave them in limbo, a shifter gets heart broken and will slowly die. I only ate in front of mum for her, not to worry. I'm sure dad knows as nothing gets past him. Sometimes, he will act dumb, just to have an excuse to cheer mum up. He likes to make her feel empowered with ideas that he had, but have mum take the credit. Don't get me wrong, mum is extremely smart, but dad just loves watching her eyes brighten. Mum wasn't born into royalty, so sometimes she can feel out of place, even after all these years, some doubts enter her mind. She doubts she is good enough to be Queen. Going to each tribe has seen some activity outside their borders, when they go to investigate no one is there. Draco and I hated leaving our mate, but we know she will be safe with our parents. Erik found me and joined me on the second day and has been very quiet. "Erik, what is up? You have been so quiet." Erik looked at me and laughed. "Says you! How quiet have you been lately?" He had me there. I have been quiet, only because I didn't have the strength to answer questions on everyone's mind. Why have I not introduced my mate? "I have found my mate Tyr." I was so happy for Erik, but he didn't look happy and overjoyed. "Why are you not with her Erik what is going on?" I see the wheels turning in Erik's mind. "It's Aurora's sister, Willow, the one who got brought to the house." Aurora's sister was Erik's mate. This is great. "Why are you not happy Erik what is going on?" "Tyr, she walked straight past me, not once did she look at me, I fear she is the same as Aurora, if she isn't then she doesn't want me." I was upset for Erik. He deserved to be happy. "We are two peas in a pod, huh brother." Trying to lighten the mood, to stop Erik going down the path like I have. Before we could say more, a figure zipped past in the corner of my eye in the forest. Following it with Draco’s' eyes, I managed to catch up. Grabbing the figure, I spun them around, seeing he was a small young boy. He was a fairy. "Who are you, and what do you want?" Draco added his voice to his eyes, the young boy pissed himself. Dragging him with me back to my tribe, I threw him in a cell for questioning. Now, him being so young, we will have to take it easy on him. No young people are to be hurt. He gave up information quickly as he was terrified. He was on the look for my mate and her sister the king wants them back. I left the cells and changed to Draco flying over to the old Pinewood pack. I need to see if this portal is still open. I looked around the pack and used Draco’s eyes and nothing. I couldn’t feel any spell had been used for a long time. I gave up after a few hours and headed back to the tribe going straight for the cells, I needed to know where the boy had come from. My mum came running to me when I left the cell, I put the young boy in. a envelope in her hand. My stomach dropped a bad feeling washing over me. "I'm sorry, Tyr." Was all she said. I ripped open the envelope and read the letter it was from Aurora, she apologised to me and said to protect her sister, she will be gone in a week. Hopefully, one day, I will forgive her. Have I pushed my mate away? I have been respectful of her wishes, as well as guarding myself. Have I lost my mate all over again? "Mum, when did she leave? I need to know, what way did she go?" Mum pointed in the direction she went and told me she had been gone an hour. Shit s**t s**t! I changed into Draco and took to the sky. Our hearts are pounding in our chest. I need to find her and her sister to make sure they are safe and brought back. I will not lose my mate. I will keep her protected. Reading the letter I made up my mind. No more hiding and no more being away from her, I will win her over as she is mine and I am hers. Hunting through the forest, I see my mate and her sister walking down. Behind them was some fairy's following. The sisters didn't seem to know they were being followed. Swooping down, keeping quiet, I grabbed both of the fairy's following them, quickly going to the tribe the guards put them in their cells. Flying back to the sisters checking around them, no one else was following them. Erik's dragon Blaze joined me. Talking to each other, we planned on what to do next. Erik landed in front of them, me behind. The girls screamed as they hadn't seen Blaze. Turning around, only Aurora's sister screamed as Aurora recognised Draco. "Draco, what are you doing here? I'm sorry, but you would need to change back to talk to you or Tyr." I couldn't help the laugh escaping me. My little mate doesn't know I can speak in this form. "I can speak to you, mate, in this form. You both need to come back to the tribe where you are safe. Willow, go with Erik, Aurora. You are with me." Aurora spun round and looked at Blaze, seeing it was Erik. "Tyr, I don't know if you got my letter, I have to go to keep you safe, just in case." Bloody letter can shove it. I showed her the letter in my hand, well now winged claws, how I still had it. I don't know, but I set it a light. "I will not let you leave, mate. I will not make that mistake." Aurora started to cry and laugh. Have I broken my mate? Aurora ran to me and hugged me. Well, her arms laid around my chest. I put my head down, and Aurora stroked under my chin. Draco started to purr at her touch. The sparks I felt were amazing and felt they were energising me. Helping Aurora onto my back, I looked over to Erik/Blaze. He was lying down for Willow to get on his back. I see they were having a quiet conversation. Willow didn't seem to be standoff but was reluctant. When she saw Aurora climb onto my back, a wide, relieved smile went across her face. She accepted Blazes' help to go on his back, and he started to purr also. Willow let out a laugh, which made Blaze puff out his chest. If he started to strut and prance about, I would have to smack him upside the head. I was happy for him, though. Flying us back to the tribe, we let our mates down, Erik changed back first, walking Willow off to have a chat. I changed back and suddenly I was tackled to the floor. Aurora, on top of me, cried in my chest. I picked us both up and carried my mate to my room. Mum and dad were in the downstairs office see me and left me to it. I laid us both on my bed, Aurora tightening her arms around me, not letting me go. I pulled the blanket over us, just holding her to me, stroking her hair. Aurora fell asleep on me, and she looked so tired. Was this my doing? I stayed awake to watch my mate. Wiping her cheeks to wipe away the tears she shed. I wonder what changed Aurora's mind. She has never been like this with me. Draco pushed forward, so we shared to the front seat to watch our mate sleep. "She never corrected us when we called her mate. She ran to us Tyr, what do you think?" Draco is getting his hopes up, I am getting my hopes up. Has she accepted us? "I don't know Draco, but I know I don't want this to end. If she walked away, I don't think I could handle it. We need to keep guarded and enjoy what we do get, I suppose." Draco agreed, hoping she has accepted us. I would love it if she had accepted us. No matter what, she is my life, my future. Please, Goddess, help my mate accept me.
