Chapter 21

Tyr

I had a great time getting to know Aurora. Spending time with her was a breeze, and I could just be me. it felt different to the week we first had together. This time it wasn’t forced or on a time limit, and she was open this time not pulled away from me. She also got along with my family so well that they all loved her.

Her sister Willow has got along great and fitted in so well. Her and Erik look so happy. I was happy for them, Eril is my brother and soon my second, he was a great guy and deserved all the happiness. As promised, we made our way to the Valhalla pack, my adopted grandparents pack. When Grandpa Aric took us to the training grounds, I could hear my sister shouting inside, walking in she was in the ring with Angus.

Hearing her call him out, I put two and two together. He was her mate. What the f**k has gone on here? Elin stormed off outside, when she confirmed Angus, was her mate, then telling me he tried to reject her, I got suspicious. Then the words sunk in, I lost my s**t. Draco shared the front seat with me. Storming to the gym, I ripped the door off its hinges. Smoke was pouring out of me. Everyone stopped what they were doing. All voices calling me blurred into the background. I could feel hands trying to hold me back but they was no match for me, I am a f*****g royal dragon and a pissed off brother, nothing is going to stop me.

Spotting my target across the room, I ran over to him and punched him hard. The fucker went down, and I followed still raining punches on him. A lot of hands were grabbing me to pull me off the s**t head, but I wasn't done yet. Until I felt the sparks on my arm. I stopped so I didn’t hurt my mate.

"Tyr, please, you are scaring me." Aurora looked scared, tears in her eyes. She looked at me as if I grew a second head. I forgot Aurora had been sheltered her whole life and never seen violence.

I grabbed Aurora to me and held her tight. I know I was crushing her, but it was the only way to calm me down, smelling her scent. In the corner of my eye, Erik, Odin, and Loki helped Angus up. Taking him away to get seen to. His face was bad, but I didn't regret it. He has hurt my baby sister, and no way will he get away with it.

Aurora had a story and a f*****g curse on her to not know who I am, Angus has no f*****g excuse. Elin stayed with us in the gym, just sitting and staring off as Willow tried to comfort her. Elin looked like she had given up.

Walking over to her, I asked where Astrid was, and she said her mate was here. I mind linked Astrid and let her know I was taking Elin home. She can stay here for now. Erik said he would stay behind to visit his sister and get the s**t heads story.

I pulled Elin and Aurora outside and changed to Draco, helping them both on, I flew us back home. Elin went straight to her room and didn't leave. I told Mum and Dad what had happened. Aurora pushed for me to go to Elin and spend time with her. Elin needs me. Again, I was feeling torn as I didn't want to leave my mate alone, but she pushed me to the stairs and told me to go. Freya came around the corner and offered to stay with Aurora.

I made my way up and entered Elins' room. She was lying on the bed silently crying. I climbed in next to her and just held her in my arms as she cried it out.

When Elin finally calmed down, she looked around the room, asking, "Where is Aurora?" Chuckling, I explained she kicked me up the stairs to come to see her and is with Freya.

"I'm glad you never gave up on her Tyr, I knew she would come around." Stroking my sister’s hair, I asked if she wanted to talk about it?

Shaking her head no, I just stayed with her. Even when she fell asleep, I stayed. Aurora brought up dinner for both of us, refusing to stay as it was sibling time, and she left the room.

I woke Elin up and made her eat some food. I will not let her go the way I went. I will protect my baby sister. I know she is only 5 minutes younger than me, but she is still my baby sister.

Again, Elin asked where Aurora was. I told her she was downstairs. Elin asked if Aurora would join us. I got up and found Aurora downstairs with the twins. Telling her Elin was asking for her, Aurora followed, confused as to why Elin would ask for her.

We went into the room, and Elin asked Aurora to sit next to her. Aurora sat next to Elin, and Elin hugged her. She asked all about Aurora. Aurora told her story and told about the curse. Elin listened and seemed to look like my sister again. I knew she was putting a front on. I knew Elin wanted to get to know Aurora, this was a crappy time as I know right now, she is doing it to forget her mate. Elin wanted to meet Aurora, we always said growing up we would introduce our mates as soon as we meet them. I know Elin is keeping to that but also forgetting her mate.

I was itching to go back and finish the job. Elin had a tear go down her cheek and finally told us everything. She had toured the tribes and had no luck. When she got to the Valhalla pack, she met Angus. We hadn't seen him for years, at first, he was happy to have finally found his mate, but when he realised who she was he turned cold and distant.

Angus had watched Mum grow up and helped her become the warrior she is today. Angus found mum when she was 14 hiding in a tree abused. So, he felt he was betraying Mum and Dad taking Elin as a mate. Mum and dad would have been happy with Angus being part of the family, knowing he could protect their daughter.

Angus had been a family friend for a while. He was a lot older than Elin and me. He is two years older than mum so bit of an age difference. For me and Aurora is only a four-year gap. Mum and dad had an age gap, and to shifters, it doesn't matter. If both mates are legal age, that's all that matters. We shifters do not age and live a long time. Angus still looks to be 28.

Angus had mostly grown up in the Valhalla pack and had always excelled in being a warrior he went up the ranks quickly, becoming head warrior by 18. For years, we haven't seen Angus, since we were about 13. Something shifted that day with Angus, and we never see him. He would do video calls and phone to talk to my parents, always an excuse he couldn't visit.

I wonder if he knew she was his mate back then? It is rare, but it can happen an older mate smelling their mate who is underage. Is that why he didn't recognise Elin at first because he hadn't seen her for a while. Before I could think more on it, Freya and Bjorn brought up food for us and joined us in the room. Not wanting to leave Elin, we stayed in her room, Freya and Bjorn took my room.

A few days had passed, and still no Angus. Elin was like a zombie being away from her mate. Mum at first was upset, and then she got angry. Dad flew her over to the pack, and I nearly felt sorry for Elins mate. Almost.

I kept Elin in the dark about Mum and dad leaving as I didn't want her to help him. He deserves what is coming to him. I just can't understand why he would refuse my sister. Aurora and I spent all our time with Elin. Aurora was so good with helping Elin. This morning, Elin spoke for the first time in days.

"What made you accept my brother?" Aurora looked at me a small smile on her face and then looked back to my sister.

"Your mum and dad, they taught me the real world and made me think, then my sister turned up and told me off, when I decided to trust, I hadn't seen Tyr in days and thought he didn't want me anymore, it hit me, I had a mate, and I lost him. Thankfully, he was still there waiting for me. Communication I learned was the most important thing. And I have a lot to learn, being sheltered and lied to my whole life, I need a whole brain reset." Hugging Aurora to me, thinking how close I was to losing her. Elin just nodded her head and laid back down again, keeping quiet. Even though I know what she has been through I didn’t know how to help her. With Elin she will bottle and only tell when she is ready. Try to force it out she will shut down more.
