Chapter 20

Aurora

Waking up with Tyr was nice. I went to my old room to get ready for the day as all my stuff was there, Tyr got ready in his room. Today, I will move my stuff to his room. No more wasting time apart from each other. I want to get to know Tyr and embrace him as my mate. No more holding back. I am going to believe he is my mate. With learning everything these past few days has helped me. even when I was going to leave and marry the king, I accepted Tyr was my mate, but I had to protect my sister, Tyr and his family.

Tyr met me at the door, waiting in the hallway. When he looked at me, a smile on his face looking so relaxed, he pulled me to him, telling me how beautiful I looked. Looking up at him, I felt my heart flutter and a pull to him. The signs I ignored now feel. I leaned in to kiss him, and he started to lean down when Elodie walked out of one of the rooms.

"Oh, I didn't mean to interrupt! Carry on, I will go down and start dishing up breakfast. Tyr, you better be good to her, and remember I am still young, but if some great grandbabies come along, I would be happy." She walked off happy as can be.

Tyr laughed. shook his head and kissed me on the head. Yeah, I think the mood got killed there. Making our way down, we had breakfast, and it was just fantastic, the most simple, uncaring, and happy environment. No one telling me I am eating wrong, holding the wrong knife, a lady was never to speak at mealtimes unless spoken to. Everyone talked, laughed, and told what they were doing for the day.

Tyr keeping to his word told me and him are going to Ase’s old pack. He will be seeing Elin today as promised. He left a lot out with that, so Ase and Dimitri agreed. Erik's eyes slitted looking at Tyr, as if he is trying to figure out what was going on. They must have had a conversation as Erik and Willow are now joining us.

"Tyr, call your sister first please, you need to make sure she is still there." Ase said. Tyr looked suspicious at his mum. Does she know he left out stuff?

Tyr made his way upstairs to grab his phone and called the pack. No one answered, so he tried again. Finally getting through, he asked for Elin. It took a while, and finally, Elin came to the phone.

"Mum said to call you, sis, but I am keeping my promise, and I am coming today! No ifs or buts, I am on my way. This is just a heads up." Before Elin could respond, Tyr hung up.

Ignoring his phone ringing, he threw it into his room onto the bed, and we went downstairs and out the door, Erik and Willow already there. The boys changed into their dragons and helped us on their backs. Tyr had told me that only mates are allowed on the backs of their dragons. This made me believe him more that we are mates. It sounds stupid to keep doubting but I know that is part of the curse, it is trying to push me away from him. Spending the day with him yesterday and opening my mind and heart, the curse feels weaker.

Maybe one day Willow and I could pull our wings out again. Now we have abandoned our family, and we would be able to fly. The royals were never allowed to use their wings to fly. We kept them out to show we were royals as we had multiple colours. The what the royals called the lesser people, which I know was just the people had one colour matching their hair colour, and were allowed to fly as they were less than the royals. They were just the working class.

It made me sick thinking about how we got brought up. I always envied everyone able to fly, and I wished I was one of them. When I got to the human world, my wings tucked into my back, looking like a tattoo of wings on my back. A lot of the girls at the club were envious, I had such a cool tattoo. They see my back when we got changed to our uniforms. We had to share a room for changing.

I have yet to learn how to get them out. Since being in the human world, I wouldn't dare to try in case someone had a camera at the ready. Then, hearing about cameras in hotel rooms it scared me to even try.

Enjoying the ride on Draco’s back, the sun shining on my face, I felt free. Not just the flying, but knowing I am out of the fairy world, having the correct knowledge of shifters and their ways. My sister met her mate and was free with me. I got to meet my mate.

We landed in a field. It was nothing like I thought it would be. The same as Tyr’s tribe this was all nature. Trees surrounded the land, flowers, and a playground for the kids. Wood houses. Draco let me down and put his face to mine, I laughed, scratching him under the chin. He seemed to like that a lot.No one stopped these two dragons from entering the land, so they must know it was Tyr and Erik.

The guys changed back and walked us to the biggest house. We walked into the house, and two men walking out of a room met us I the hallway. A woman ran down the stairs.

"Tyr, Erik, what are you both doing here? Are these ladies your mates?" The woman asked, very excited.

"Hi gran, hey grandpa, hey uncle, yes this is our mates, Aurora this is my mums adopted parents I told you about my other grandparents. Lori and Aric. This is my uncle Odin."

"It's nice to meet you all." Wow, these men were scary. The lady looked so out of place here. The lady who ran down the stairs I now know as Lori hugged us all in greeting. Me and Willow included.

"You here for Elin." Aric asked, getting straight to it.

"Yes, I told her I will be here, and I keep to my word, you know this." Aric and Odin nodded their heads in agreement.

"Follow us." Aric seemed defeated saying this and walking away.

Odin walked next to Tyr and me, greeting me and welcoming me and my sister. He said if it was another day, we would get a better welcome, but it has been a whirlwind here, we will soon see. Aric and Odin walked us to a field where a building was. Opening the door, we could hear a female voice shouting and hurling insults and a body hitting the floor. Walking through, there were a lot of men standing around a ring. They were scary. Huge scary.

In the ring was a man who looked like a frigging boulder! He made everyone here look small with how much muscle he had. In the ring with him was the female voice we heard walking in. Looking closer, I see it was Tyr’s twin Elin. When the crowd noticed, Aric they parted to let him and us through.

"Elin, you have a few visitors. Angus, have you admitted defeat yet?" The man Angus looked away from Elin and this gave her a chance to throw a punch at him, Angus caught her fist and spun her around, pinning her arms behind her back, keeping his lower body to not be kicked by her.

"Elin enough! You are to have a break now!" Aric snapped at Elin.

Angus let her go, and she walked off, not looking back at him. Anger in her eyes, she just walked out. Tyr and I followed behind her to go outside.

Elin spun around poking her finger in Tyr’s chest. "I told you not to come here. You never listen, Tyr." Spinning around to me, her eyes softening. “It’s so nice to finally meet you Aurora, please don't let my brother boss you about. If need be, I'll put him in his place." I told Elin it was nice to finally meet her too.

"Elin what the f**k was that about, no more secrets, I have been good to you letting you have space now tell me." Elin shook her head no, she didn't want to say anything.

When Tyr said her name again, Elin broke. She cried like someone heartbroken. Tyr grabbed her and held her to him. I rubbed her back.

"He is my mate, and he told me he would never accept me, he tried to reject me Tyr." My heart broke for Elin. I put Tyr through the same, and now she is going through the same thing, except he tried to reject her. Seeing it from another point that wasn’t my side made me feel awful. I’m glad I didn’t know how to reject Tyr, until Erik gave me the letter I never had known how to. Something had stopped me reading it out loud to do it and I am glad I never did.

"I'm going to kill him. Family friend or not, I am going to kill him slowly." Looking at Tyr, he had one eye of Draco and one eye of himself. Oh, Fudge nuts, he is not kidding.
