What? What was going on here? Carson was apologizing to her? "What are you apologizing for? With my lousy track record, it's no wonder people suspect me." "I was wrong about you, and I owe you an apology," Carson said, looking a bit awkward but sincere. He had always been quick to blame Miranda whenever someone pointed a finger at her, given her history of troublemaking. But as a soldier, he knew he should have been more cautious, not jumping to conclusions so hastily. Miranda, though annoyed, didn't want to hold a grudge. "Forget it. We're getting divorced anyway. I've tried to help a few people here, so just forgive me before I'm out of here!" From Carson's perspective, it was hard to develop any feelings for Miranda. But her unexpected calm response now caught Carson off guard.
