Six years later "Alright, I heard you so just shut up." I said as my hand slammed the alarm shut Seriously! This thing needs to take a chill pill. It was hard to leave the warm bed but after a thought plus Riya yelling at me from the kitchen, I quickly paddled up to the bathroom. I washed my face and narrowed my eyes on the spot which is my least favorite these days. Guess what? I got a pimple just below my left nostril. Great start of the day Arg!!! Thug life of mine "If you want to stay right over here dear pimple, then I need to see some rent on my table." I told it before raising my hand towards the cabinet to grab my toothbrush. After brushing my teeth and completing my morning business, I walked towards my cupboard and took my hoodie and a pair of joggers out. Stuffing my body into them I walked out of my bedroom "Riya, I am going for jogging." I informed her as my feet landed on soft sole of my sneakers. "Be quick. You need extra time today for getting ready." She said from the kitchen her voice extra loud because of the blender "Why are you teaming up with Sakshi?" I asked her feeling frustrated because I have been hearing this thing for one week now "Because she is so sweet." she replied and I could hear the smug in her voice "Whatever." I answered as I tied the bands together in a secure knot. "Bye." I said and stormed out towards staircase. As soon as I reached park I spotted the two idiots Shantanu and Sakshi. "Hey jogging buddies." I said to them as I reached them. They smiled and all three of us started jogging and gossiping about office. "So, Ananya are you ready for today?" Shantanu asked while wriggling his eyebrows at me "Yeah I’m but just little nervous." I replied "You will secure a good score. I bet." he said boosting my confidence a bit "So will you Shaan. So, will you." I said with a smile "What about me?" Sakshi asked with a pout on her face "You too baby." Shaan replied and kissed her cheeks "Get a room you two." I commented on their Public Display of Affection while rolling my eyes "Even if we get the room he won't be doing anything." Sakshi replied with a small pout "I want my both my babies safe, that's why we won't be doing anything." he replied in a duh tone as if stating a universal fact I smiled at them but a pain rose in my chest. ‘I was not able to experience this love.’ My heart spoke defending him once again and I internally rolled my eyes at it Shantanu and Sakshi are married. They work with me and Sakshi is three weeks pregnant with Shaan’s baby. They both are adorable as a couple. They always remind me of Jay and Maya. I hope they are together now. Married and with kids We jogged for few more minutes and gossiped about office staff until we reached our building and I went straight away towards staircase while both of them towards elevators. "Ananya the elevators also go till the eighth floor you know." Shaan commented "Oh, really! I didn’t know that Duffer." God bless my sarcastic mouth "Enjoy your ride" he matched my sarcasm and the elevator doors closed before I could say anything. Okay now Breathe in! Breathe out! Start!! I marched towards the staircase and rushed up the stairs till I reached eighth floor, fully tired, drenched in sweat and completely sticky and stinky. I opened the door and found Riya setting up the table for breakfast. She works from home on the assignments she’s been given. "Go, take a quick shower." she ordered me in a motherly tone I nodded and headed towards my bedroom to grab my things. I heard soft snores, so I quickly turned towards bathroom without making much noise After a long, warm and relaxing shower I draped my bathrobe around my body. My curves are now more prominent, thanks to morning the workout and other exercises which I do I turned towards the mirror and applied the concealer on my dark patches below the eyes and of course! On that stupid pimple also. I applied mascara and eye liner with a sharp wing at the end and ended up my makeup routine with a smack of dark maroon lipstick on my lips. I decided to wear my beige color pants, with my maroon color shirt and beige color formal jacket, putting on my beige color five inch heels I stood in front of the mirror. I felt confidence rising in me when I saw my reflection in the mirror I walked out and quickly sat on the dining table and ate my breakfast. "Thanks Riya." I said and quickly kissed her cheeks as I stood up to leave "Take care, Hun!!" I added while standing at the threshold of the door "I will." she assured me, and I smiled at her. I walked out of the building and waited with Sakshi till Shaan pulled his car out of the parking lot I quickly waved at him and took the backseat and Sakshi took the passenger seat. As we secured our seat belts Shaan started the ignition and drove out of the compound of our society and I zoned out as usual Six years. Six years have passed. Not even a phone call is exchanged. Jay, Sister Adrienne, Jenny, Anika, Dev and Arjun. The most important aspects of my life are still over there. In Mumbai and I am here in Delhi without anyone's knowledge. These six years have been difficult I got to know a lot about myself and my life. Sometimes I terribly missed Jay. But his void is now somewhat fulfilled by Shaan. But the space I shared with Jay can never be shared by Shaan. I work as an architect over here. There are twenty five senior architects in the company I work at. A competition was held and top ten out of the list will be provided with an increment of twenty percent in their salary. I hope I too end up in list as I need money for the surgery of... "Ananya are you listening to me?" Sakshi asked while waving her hands in front of me. She brought me back from my daydream. "She has zoned out once again." Shaan replied chuckling. “Shut up. Will you?” I rolled my eyes at him. He mouthed a small sorry while turning back towards me and then again turned in front within seconds. "So, I was asking what are the criteria’s for the scoring?" She asked. As if she doesn't know? But to please the grumpy pregnant lady I have to answer her or else we'd be making a trip to the hospital instead of going to work "It is fifty score contest. Ten out of which is based on your attendance. Twenty marks are for your work done in projects from past four months. Ten marks for the time you are consuming in submitting the work. The rest ten marks are from the responses you are getting from your co-workers." I explained her everything in detail "I also told her the same thing, but she didn't believe me." Shaan complained as if I’m the teacher and these two are my students and I need to solve this dispute if I want to reach office in one piece "This is because you didn't get the Choco-chip cookie ice-cream for me last weekend." Sakshi fired back Mood swings!! She’s getting them too early "What can I do if they had run over its stock?" Shaan asked in disbelief "Stop it both of you." I entered in the conversation as I saw that Sakshi was going to comment on something. "Sakshi, it is last weekend thing." I added softly trying to pacify her She nodded but instantly fired "But I need my ice-cream, this weekend." "Consider it done baby." Shaan replied and rolled his eyes Thank God, Sakshi didn't notice him rolling his eyes. Otherwise this could have killed me. We reached in the parking lot of the building. 'Building Dreams', I will love the concept behind this name, which one day or the other I will find out. Breathe in!! Breathe out!! "You have done very well Ananya. You will be securing a good score. Trust me." Shaan added after noticing my condition. "Hope so." I added and we walked inside the building with smiles of hope etched on our faces
