CHAPTER 9The IMB Calls Monte pressed his forehead against the cool, foggy window as the cop car rumbled down the Downfield Place driveway. His stomach churned, the shell’s heat rushing through his arm. He watched with pity as Cameron wiped at her cheeks. She didn’t do anything out of line, he told himself.
