Chapter Seventeen: Cara Makes her Decision

637 Words
The next morning the doctor’s finally discharged me from the hospital, I had to make a decision on what I was going to do. I knew the guys had away games for the next 3 weeks but I was on the fence on whom to live with. I know logically we couldn’t stay at Jeff’s cause he only had 3 bedrooms and minimal security. Bryce never offered his place and I wouldn’t expect him too, so I had the option to live at my office, stay in a hotel or live with Jackson. At this point staying at my office or a hotel wouldn’t be safe so the best decision was to stay with Jackson for the time being. I looked at Jeff, Bryce, Jackson and Andrew and made my decision that I’d stay at Jackson’s. Jeff and Bryce had this huge grin on their faces and I couldn’t figure out why. Jackson looked just as lost as me with the grins, Andrew pulled our attention to him saying that he is going to have the fire investigated by his team and they are going to implement all the tracking devices on my phone and car and I will have 3 guards around at all times, but Bryce will be my main man and be with me 24/7. Jackson said he was leaving so he could get keys and swipe cards set up for Bryce and I plus he needed to talk to the security team at the condo about security measures and ask where all the cameras were. Before I could move in I needed to buy some clothes, toiletries and essentials before moving to Jackson’s place. I called Stacy to let know I was out of the office today and to take messages. It had taken me a few hours to collect everything I needed, and I headed to Jackson’s place. Pulling into the parking garage at Jackson’s place I noticed just how secure it was. It brought ease into my life, maybe I’ll be okay here. Within a few minutes Bryce pulls up and parks. We go the elevator and punch in Jackson’s unit 3711 and his sexy voice is over the speaker and asks who it is, and we respond. He hits the button to allow us up, we rode in silence in the elevator and once we arrived on Jackson’s floor, he was standing by the elevator waiting to help. Jackson’s eyes never left mine when we arrived, when he looked down he saw that my hands were full and he didn’t hesitate to grab my bags and bring them into his space. Bryce and I followed him. This was the second time I’d been in this place twice and it was still so gorgeous. As we followed Jackson, he showed Bryce to his room, which was by the office and Jackson took me to the other spare room which was near his. I felt my cheeks heat up with the thought of hearing Jackson shower or imagine him with a lady but I had to sweep that under the rug. Once we put stuff in our rooms, Jackson met us in the living room. He had all the keys, swipe cards and passcodes ready for us. He had to leave soon to fly out to Pittsburg for their first away game. Jackson looked at me and said, you can use the office whenever you want, keep the doors locked and the people at security briefly know what’s going on so if anything shows up they are to call Andrew or the police right away and for the love of goodness please be safe while I’m gone. Before he left, he said goodbye to Bryce, and grabbed his hockey bag and suitcase and off he went. Did he really care for me?
