Chapter Fifteen: Cara’s Next Move

I couldn’t believe I forgot Jackson was in the room. When he had asked what was going on, I panicked. I didn’t know how to explain this. When I looked at Bryce he had a s**t eating grin on his face and I knew he was thinking about something.

So we sat down and I explained the situation to him, I left out me being r***d and the situation with my mom. As I was telling him about everything he had this look in his eyes that I couldn’t decipher. He almost looked like he could kill someone, but why? He doesn’t know me!

Once Bryce and him had made plans, and Jackson signed the contract and leaving 50% of the cost, he left. Bryce had said that the plans Jackson stated were good and they were going to implement it. My phone would have a GPS inside the battery and my car would have a GPS in it (Jackson’s idea), Bryce would be putting the cameras onto a different server, another guard would be following me but from afar and he would be moving in ASP.

At this point there was nothing I could do. I decided that I would take another self defence course and go to the gun range to keep my aim top notch. I would also keep a knife in my car and pepper spray and gun in my purse, I had to make sure that my guard wasn’t down.

I decided it was time to call it a night, so Bryce and I left to go home and when we pulled up to our place, there were fire trucks and policemen everywhere. My home was up in flames! I stood there is shock and started to cry. Why? How? This is a new building. I went up to the fire Marshall once the fire was out and asked him what happened. He said that a fire started in condo 3125 and he said that it looked like arson.

My brain short circuited with finding out it was my unit and the next thing I remember was Bryce yelling my name and everything went black.

When I had woke up all I could hear was a beeping sound and people talking. I opened my eyes to see that I was in the hospital and Bryce, Jeff, Andrew and Jackson were all there. Wait why was Jackson here? Jeff looked over and saw me awake, he ran to me and engulfed me in a huge hug and said he was so happy to see me awake. He told me that I had blacked out and fell. The doctor assumed it from all the stress lately from everything and the final straw was the fact someone was trying to kill you.

I just laid there in shock. It all hit me and I burst out crying. I wasn’t safe, I had no home, someone was stalking me and now someone was trying to kill me. This had been all too much. I shouldn’t have came back, it was a mistake. Maybe I should move back to Las Vegas!

Jeff was looking at me and he must of read my mind cause he said. Listen kid, this isn’t your fault, so don’t you dare think about moving cause I can’t protect you if you do! I sat up and hugged him. Alright bro I’ll stay put, but I have no place to live and I lost everything. Jackson piped up and said I could live with him if I wanted. He had a state of the alarm security system in his place and the condo itself was well secured and Bryce could stay there also since he had 4 bedrooms plus an office for me to work if needed.

I just stared at him, in shock! Why would this man help me? I am nothing but damaged good and had baggage.

I guess my next move would be to move in with Jackson. Oh lord help!
