Black Water Lake. Chapter Seven .. A New Life The three of them slept soundly on one bed, as if they were a single body, and well into the afternoon Diana woke up and roused Veronica and the newcomer, Isabella. Today was a day off from the nightclub because Mr Alfred was organising some repairs there; it looked as though they would take two or three days. Veronica suggested spending the day off in a quiet, somewhat secluded spot. Diana seemed to like the idea and said, 'Yes, we do want to relax a bit after such a long spell of work; it's been ages since we last had a holiday.' Isabella suggested they go camping in a secluded spot amongst the mountains and trees. Diana rejected the idea and said to her, 'No, who's going to wait on us? It's our holiday and we've got plenty of money, you lot of idiots.' "We'll go somewhere posh, somewhere extremely luxurious where we'll feel like queens, with everyone waiting on us." At this, Isabella said, "Shall we go to Hay Adams?" Veronica asked, "And who is this Mr Adams?" Isabella laughed and said, "It's the hotel owned by that damned billionaire Mr Edward, who loves watching and enjoying himself." At this, Diana said, 'Yes, that's a good idea. I've heard it's a luxury hotel frequented by lots of businessmen.' In no time at all, Diana had packed a large suitcase filled with her most luxurious and seductive outfits, and Isabella already owned plenty of alluring lingerie. Before long, the three of them were wearing stunning, enchanting dresses. That evening, it felt as though the city itself was preparing to welcome an extraordinary occasion. Inside a luxurious penthouse overlooking the glittering lights of the capital, Diana stood before a full-length mirror framed by soft golden illumination. She carefully adjusted her elegant blonde updo, leaving a few delicate strands to frame her flawless face. She wore a breathtaking black Italian velvet evening gown that embraced her graceful silhouette with timeless sophistication before flowing effortlessly into a sweeping train that bestowed regal elegance upon every step. A dazzling diamond necklace rested gently around her neck, while matching earrings caught the light with every subtle movement. Her makeup was refined and luxurious—smoky eyes blended to perfection, long lashes accentuating her captivating gaze, and deep wine-colored lipstick that completed her unforgettable smile. In the adjoining suite, Veronica selected her gown as though she were creating a masterpiece. She chose an emerald-green evening dress embroidered with delicate silver threads that shimmered like morning dew scattered across a forest. Her chestnut hair cascaded over her shoulders in soft waves, while warm bronze makeup enhanced her naturally radiant complexion. A subtle touch of highlighter gave her skin an ethereal glow. An emerald bracelet and an elegant ring completed her appearance, making her resemble a princess from an enchanted kingdom. Meanwhile, Isabella chose the color of a royal midnight sky. Her royal blue silk gown flowed like liquid with every movement, blending grace with quiet confidence. Her raven-black hair was styled into a classic chignon adorned with a sapphire hairpin. Carefully applied eyeliner emphasized her mesmerizing eyes, while soft rose-colored lipstick highlighted her serene and confident smile. When the three women finally met in the luxurious sitting room, silence briefly filled the air. They exchanged knowing smiles, each realizing that this evening would be unlike any other. Their beauty was not merely a matter of flawless features—it radiated through their confidence, elegance, and undeniable presence, effortlessly commanding every corner of the room. Outside, a magnificent black Rolls-Royce Phantom waited beneath the glow of the entrance lights. Its polished body reflected the sparkling city skyline as the chauffeur respectfully opened the rear door. Diana entered first, followed by Veronica and Isabella. The doors closed softly, and the luxury sedan glided smoothly through the elegant streets of Washington, D.C. Beyond the expansive windows, the city's dazzling lights danced across the glass, casting shimmering reflections over exquisite fabrics and sparkling jewelry. Inside the silent cabin, only gentle classical music accompanied the subtle fragrance of expensive French perfume blending harmoniously with the scent of handcrafted leather. As they approached The Hay-Adams, the city's brilliance seemed to intensify. The legendary hotel stood proudly near the White House, its historic façade illuminated by warm golden lights that celebrated more than a century of timeless luxury. The Rolls-Royce came to a graceful stop before the hotel's grand entrance. Diana stepped out first. Veronica followed. Then came Isabella. For one unforgettable moment, time itself appeared to slow. Conversations faded. Heads turned instinctively. Every eye drifted toward the three women as they walked across the entrance with calm confidence. Their flowing gowns moved elegantly with the evening breeze, while diamonds and precious gemstones captured every beam of light. Their gentle smiles reflected quiet confidence rather than extravagance, creating an aura that was impossible to ignore. Whispers quietly spread among the guests. Some wondered whether they were internationally celebrated actresses, members of a royal family, or distinguished guests attending an exclusive diplomatic gala. Even the hotel's staff greeted them with exceptional courtesy, while the doormen opened the grand doors with genuine admiration. Together, Diana, Veronica, and Isabella entered the magnificent marble lobby beneath breathtaking crystal chandeliers whose golden light shimmered across the polished floors. Their reflections floated gracefully over the marble as if the hotel itself had become a palace welcoming three unforgettable queens. It was more than a glamorous arrival. It was a cinematic moment where beauty, elegance, confidence, and timeless luxury came together in perfect harmony—leaving behind a memory that no one fortunate enough to witness would ever forget. The beauty of the three was the talk of the town; these women were like beauty queens, and they looked as though they were the children of kings. Everyone rushed to attend to the ladies, and in no time at all they had reached the royal suite—a very luxurious suite reserved for the hotel's most distinguished guests. It was only a matter of moments before the hotel's personal waiter arrived to present them with a bottle of champagne, a gift from the hotel. There was also a small card advertising tonight's ball—a fancy dress party. The evening was drawing to a close and night was falling. Veronica wanted to open the bottle of champagne and have a drink, but Diana took the bottle from her and said, 'No, tonight isn't the time for drink; it's time to dance. Come on, let's get ready for the fancy dress party.'
