Surrogate Demand

A figure walked in, clad in black block heels, black leather pants, a black shirt, and a red furry jacket adorned with the Beckingham family emblem. Ariana moved with effortless grace, her wavy brown hair cascading over her shoulders and her green eyes shining brightly, complementing her striking features and making her look every bit like a goddess. She strode into the Beckingham estate with elegance that commanded attention. "That's the daughter of the Brooke family, Ariana, the one who helped sign the peace treaty. She is absolutely gorgeous," a worker whispered, awe in their voice. Ariana’s lips curved into a modest smile at the compliment. "And she’s also the first she-wolf to go to war. Oh, I wish I could be like her," another woman, dressed in a maid’s uniform, murmured in admiration. "Me too," a second maid added softly. Hearing everyone praise her made Ariana’s smile widen as she took in the sight of the grand mansion before her. Its towering gates and ornate architecture were imposing, yet she carried herself with such confidence that she seemed entirely at ease. "She's such a role model!" one maid exclaimed again as Ariana walked past them, pride evident in every step. She approached the house with her head held high, her proud smile never fading. The door swung open with a dramatic creak as Ariana stepped inside, catching Sheila off guard. Sheila was wearing a cowl-neck, long red gown, her silver-blonde hair flowing freely over her shoulders. Gold earrings and a matching necklace gleamed against her pale skin, her blue eyes shining with disbelief. She couldn’t fathom how Ariana had risen so high, stealing her man and wounding her pride in the process. The thought alone made her stomach twist with fury. Ariana’s gaze immediately found Sheila, her lips curving into a wicked, self-assured smile. Drake and his family approached her, their faces lighting up with welcoming smiles. Sheila’s nails dug into her palms, her knuckles whitening as she struggled to contain the storm of anger rising within her. "Ma’am, are you okay?" Alena, Sheila’s personal maid, asked, her brow furrowed with concern. "I’m fine," Sheila replied, her lips pressed into a tight, controlled smile. Alena sensed that something was off but chose not to press further, returning the smile with a hint of unease. Drake and his family surrounded Ariana, with Drake himself resting a hand gently on her stomach. "Welcome home, darling," Camila, Drake’s mother, said warmly, her eyes glinting with approval. Ariana’s gaze shifted back to Sheila, and she smirked, the air thick with challenge and tension. "So, you’re the wolfless, good-for-nothing Luna," Ariana said disdainfully, surveying Sheila from head to toe. "And you’re the home-wrecking new Luna," Sheila shot back, folding her hands beneath her chest with defiance. Ariana scoffed at her words, unconcerned. "You ungrateful mutt. You will not speak to her in that tone," Camila snapped, glaring daggers at Sheila. "It’s okay, Camila. Unlike her, I have more important things to focus on, like protecting the packs," Ariana said mockingly, her words dripping with superiority. "I am an Alpha myself," Sheila countered firmly, lifting her chin. "I can protect the packs too." Alena nodded in agreement, supporting her mistress silently. The family erupted into laughter at Sheila’s words, their amusement sharp and cutting. "A wolfless Alpha is nothing more than a useless Omega—weak, powerless, and incapable of leading," Raina sneered, her lips curling into a malicious grin. Sheila’s jaw tightened, her nostrils flaring as she drew in a sharp breath. For a fleeting second, a smirk formed on her lips, fueled by defiance and barely restrained fury. "Wait… she’s also an Alpha?" Ariana asked, raising an eyebrow, genuinely intrigued and pointing at Sheila. The realization that Ariana had not known Sheila’s true status only seemed to amuse Sheila, and she allowed herself a mocking smile. "Then that means if the two of you had a pup, the pup would inherit Alpha traits too," Ariana said thoughtfully. Sheila’s eyebrows knitted together, uncertain of where this conversation was headed but hoping it wouldn’t take the turn she feared. "Then you’re the perfect surrogate," Ariana concluded with a wicked glint in her eyes. Sheila froze, her stomach twisting with a mixture of anger and disbelief. After forcing her to step down as Luna, they now expected her to carry an Alpha heir. A wide grin spread across Camila’s face. "I’m far too busy running the pack myself. I can’t just have you sitting around, doing nothing," she said, her crooked smile exuding control and satisfaction. Ariana’s gaze flickered to Drake, silently urging him to voice agreement. "Ariana is right. The baby isn’t very strong, so in case… things don’t go as planned, at least you could serve as a surrogate," Drake said, his tone calm but firm, his eyes smiling at Ariana with an unsettling warmth. Sheila could hardly believe what she was hearing. The man she had loved with all her heart—who had been her world—was treating her like this. Pain erupted through her chest, sharp and unforgiving. "So first, you wanted me—your wife—to step down as Luna, and now you expect me to give you an Alpha heir as a surrogate?" she asked, tears welling in her eyes, threatening to spill over. Drake nodded, his expression unreadable, calm in its cruelty. "Exactly, Sheila," he said simply. In that moment, every trace of love Sheila had felt for him vanished completely. The betrayal was too deep, too deliberate, leaving only cold, burning fury in its wake. Sheila’s hands fell to her sides, trembling, and for the first time in her life, she saw the man she loved for what he truly was—not the partner she had trusted, but a cruel manipulator who had taken everything from her and expected her obedience in return. Ariana’s triumphant smile widened, sensing the storm she had ignited. The Beckingham estate, once a place of splendor and pride, now felt like a battlefield where dominance, betrayal, and power clashed in an unyielding war of wills. Sheila’s blue eyes, once filled with love and trust, now shimmered with tears and silent rage. She clenched her fists and took a step back, her mind racing with thoughts of revenge, pride, and reclaiming the power that had been stolen from her. She would not be broken. Not now, not ever.
