Chapter 3.0

"Make sure you say hi to Lola" Mammy says gesturing to her mom who was sited at the center of the table "Go give her a hug and a kiss"

"Okay" Zoe says as she does it. I come up to Lola, our great grandma, and get nervous as I give her a hug and kiss saying Hi.

"Magandang gabi" I say remembering the few words I learned by myself

"look at that, your learning Tagolog?" one of my aunts asked

"Trying to" I say "I only know how to say a few words"

"It sounds good, good job" one of my other aunts commented.

I swiftly move through the crowd and head towards the food, seeing my favorite dishes as I caught sight of Steven drinking outside with my uncles as they work the barbeque and the dead pig outside. I shake my head as I quickly ate and then headed to the bounce houses greeting my cousins as we start playing.

"Let's play freeze tag" I suggest and everyone starts playing it.

Mammy left two hours after the party with one of her sisters whom said would drop her off. The party was slowly settling down as everyone was ready to leave. My face burned red after running around similar to Zoe's face. We climbed into the backseat and fell asleep. Halfway through the drive I woke up as I heard Steven's voice grow louder as Trinity sat in the driver seat.

"I wanna jump out the window" drunk Steven wined as he tried to open the door as Trinity pulled him in, fully waking me up. "Don't Steven" Trinity said

"I wanna see my uncle" He says as Trinity tries her best to pull him back into the vehicle. I look towards Zoe as I see her fast asleep. I mentally sigh as Steven rolled down the window trying to jump out as Trinity grabbed on his clothes trying to pull him back in.

"Steven stop" Trinity said "Fine We'll go see your uncle" turned the car into a empty graveyard in the middle of the night driving all the way to the back and parking. Steven opened the door and bolted into he night.

"Steven!" Trinity calls out to him in the dark close by the car. She take a deep sigh as she grabs her phone looking back at me as I look at her wide-eyed "Stay here" She says as she disappears into the night.

Where'd they go? I question looking around as I see Steven run behind the car. "Steven!" Trinity shouted "Stop!"

"They're dead!" He shouts as he keeps running

"Steven!" She shouts and looks at the car where I sat with Brantley and Zoe, she sighs and tries to run to catch Steven again, trying to stop him from doing anything stupid. "Seriously Steven, you don't want to go to jail again" She husked in the dark.

Trinity manages to get Steven to stop in front of the car as they stood in front of it like a spotlight. "Steven, think about Brantley" She says "Do you want him to group up without a dad like you?"

"No, Trinity" Steven cries "I don't"

"Then stop and let's go home" Trinity suggest "It's late and they need to go to bed"

"Just go ahead and take them, I'll wait here for you" Steven says "I wont do anything"

"Sware?" Trinity asks.

"I wont do anything," Steven promised as Trinity sighs, getting into the car. She starts the car back up as I stare at the front window, unable to fall back asleep. The drive home remained silent until we arrived back, and I got Brantley up as Zoe wakes up.
