The moving hands of the clock on the wall indicated twenty minutes before the twelve, only a few minutes more and she would be free from the act she was faking, she would no longer have to dissimulate her feelings for him and no longer had to dissemble her intentions from him.
A few more minutes and she would be free from this entrapment that she had forced herself in, she would no longer have to feign for the person she hated the most. She can finally unleash all of her hatred and her anger out on him, she did not have to act any longer but every passing minute seemed prolonged to her, those twenty minutes felt like the longest period of time she had ever waited. Those twenty minutes were a forever to her that just could not seem to come to an end.
The man on the bed stirred a little in his sleep that caused the quilt to pull down slightly and his naked back came in display under the dim light coming from the moon as he slept on his stomach, carelessly and peacefully.
Tiara shifted a little away from him and sat up slightly, pressing her back against the headboard she gazed at the wall clock, her naked chest was pulled out from the warm shield the quilt was providing her, making her shiver slightly as the cool breeze grazed against her n*****s.
She looked down at her, at her nakedness. Her chest was covered in fresh purple bruises that were left behind by him, he really loved to give several hickeys to her to cover, loved marking her body with his marks as if she was his damn territory that needed a stand up sign that it belonged to him.
Tiara then slowly moved her attention to his sleepy figures, her eyes keenly observing his features. She forwarded her hand a little and touched his hairs softly, brushing them with her fingers, her other hand caressed his perfect face with utmost gentleness as if he was made of glass and she was afraid that one wrong touch would break him.
Xavier looked so calm in his sleep and looked so handsome that for a moment she found herself lost in the beauty of the man in front of her. He did not look like someone who could ruin you, rather looked like the one who would save you from it. He looked like a knight in shining armour, he looked like a saviour and it was at that moment she understood why his mother named him Xavier. That meant saviour because he appeared to be one with this beautiful face and god-like body.
She could clearly tell that his mother must have been blinded by the beauty of her son that she failed to notice the doom his presence held. She did a grave sin by naming a devil with the name that meant the complete opposite to his nature.
The more she thought about it the more laughable it appeared to her, women are indeed blind, she muttered that to herself. His mother was blind to love him like that when he did not even deserve to be born and she wondered if his mother still chose to give birth to someone like him knowing what kind of monster he would become once growing up, she knew the answer to that question would probably be a yes.
Tiara knew that woman was a hypocrite, she knew her husband was mafia, a leader to be precise and yet still pretended to be a kind lady who would always smile at others warmly. How could she even smile like that when she knew her husband might be killing someone somewhere.
Tiara could never understood Xavier’s mother, she pretended to be good but what kind of good person stays quiet when your partner was doing illegals things and what disgusted her the most was the fact that Xavier’s mother wanted a daughter, a daughter like Tiara when her husband was running a brothel and several strip clubs. What kind of woman would allow her husband to do that, she could never understand.
Tiara had liked Xavier’s mother and her only aunt all her life, she used to admire her a lot. That lady was like a mother figure to her but everything changed drastically for her when she started seeing everything with a new light, a light of revenge that was as clear as crystal.
She did not know why such thoughts never crossed her mind before, was she that naïve to understand or maybe plain stupid as she was fooled by that warm smile on her face but as she think of it she realized that she did not regret having such bitter thoughts about his mother because the way she had given permission to Xavier to marry her had turned Tiara’s heart sour towards that now dead lady.
She could not understand how could she comply with her son’s stupid demand like that, she was not a doll for god shake! It sickened Tiara that his mother used to call her daughter because if she had really considered her one then she would have made her son understand that she was a person and things just did not work according to his will.
She should have taught her son about some basic human rights but the woman did nothing and to Tiara she was a useless mother, a bad mother who appreciated her son’s obsession towards her that practically made Tiara’s life hell.
Tiara had so much hatred for her mother but she could do much as her very own mother did the same to her, she announced her only daughter to be wedded to a son of a mafia who for sure would become one too. Tiara thought her mother loved her dearly and knew everything about her, she knew how her daughter hated violence and how she would always shiver in fear whenever looked at a gun and yet her mother did that to her.
She could not understand how her sweet mother turned so inconsiderate of her when she needed to do that the most. Tiara could not understand if her mother wanted her to live her life with a man she feared or wanted her to live a life she hated the most, whatever intentions her mother had behind that decision did not appear good to her in any way.
And now that she thinks of it more deeply she realized that it was her who was betrayed by her loved ones, the ones she trusted blindly that would never hurt her did it intentionally. They were selfish with her and never looked at her like a living person. She was a doll, a beautiful doll for all of them and they wanted nothing more but to write her destiny with their own hand.
Tiara was a fool who let people around her control her, mistaking it as their love for her but not anymore. She wan not that stupid little girl who knew nothing about their hideous intentions and she refused to a puppet again.
The minute hand of the clock struck twelve as it overlapped with the hour hand and her wait finally came to an halt.
The endless days she had spent waiting for the moment had finally arrived, it was excruciating to pass the riddles of time to reach here but she had finally come to her chosen destination and with that thought a crooked smile made its way on her beautiful face.
All the good things came to those who waited, she had read that somewhere and it made her delighted that it was indeed true.
A year, she had waited for an entire year for this day to come. she had spent the three hundred and sixty five days of her life where she had ignored her true emotions just to have him destroyed. she had tolerated every single thing the time had put her through, had deprived herself from being honest to him. she had suffocated every single day in the past year with him where she had fought with her own self but no more as the time had finally arrived where she could unleash herself and free from all the restraints she had put on her own self.
She had thought about the things she would do once that day came but now that it's finally here, the giddiness confused her mind and caused fear to erupt in her heart. She was nervous and excited and did not know how to contain herself from getting overwhelmed with the emotions.
she looked longingly at the gaze as the anticipated thrill finally overcame her senses and she looked back at him again as Tiara smiled to herself, a cruel smile that indicated that she had achieved her victory, "Happy one year anniversary, Xavier Black." she had already packed up a final blow to his heart that would leave him shattered as a gift for him and she knew it was going to be the best gift someone had ever received.
