The crowd erupted into noise, there were loud cheers and chatter around us. It was like my entire world froze, my head instantly went heavy. Scott's hands were wrapped around my waist, and mine fell, dangling at the side of my legs.
My heart thudded fast, a gush of cold breeze serenaded us, and I was stuck. I couldn't move. I didn't know if it was time to play a dangerous trick, but the kiss felt long.
It was like I was in a trance, my body was unresponsive. No, it was numb. Just like the way he strangely made contact with my lips, Scott parted ways with me. The end of the kiss didn't make things any easier, it was the opposite. The response I got from people around me wasn't what I expected and it baffled me.
As if shocking me with a kiss wasn't enough, after separating me from Curly, Scott threw his hands on my shoulder and made me continue the movement with him. Meanwhile, I was still in shock. I looked behind to find out the situation of things and found Curly fuming.
His eyes had turned red and his fists were clenched. Jojo and Mel were also surrounded by strange boys. Through the way they communicated with Scott, I concluded that they were all friends. And besides, Mel didn't seem surprised when the boy with her circled his hands around her waist. She looked like she wanted it.
We were all taken to a different spot, separated from the crowd. By this time, Curly had left us. I couldn't find him, he had mixed in with everyone, and I felt bad. There was a large table and multiple chairs around us. On the table were different shades of alcohol, open boxes of pizza, leftover ice cream, and many other snacks.
It was the rich kid's table, I knew by the caliber of people that sat there. Scott's grip on me was very secure, he made sure that I sat next to him and more importantly, that my focus was nowhere else but where he was. I didn't know what was happening yet and so I turned over to Jojo and Melanie to possibly get an explanation.
Jojo was grumpy as usual, her arms were folded and her gaze unfazed. She wasn't carried away by what was happening, so that meant that she understood. Unlike Mel, she gave no attention to the guy that sat next to her. He was probably so terrified of her nature that he couldn't utter a word.
Jojo was more like a distress signal. With her expression, I could remind myself not to take too long. On the other hand, Melanie was a gentle reminder to have a good time and relax. I didn't need any more conversation because she was blushing for the guy she sat with, she liked him.
Melanie was more than her usual jovial self, her smile now had a purpose. My thumping heart reduced to a bare minimum anytime I looked towards Mel.
