Diana’s pov
I got to bed while Ezra went to the bathroom to freshen up.
When he was done, he climbed on the bed and completely ignored the massive space on his side and came to crowd my space.
We might as well be sleeping on that small couch.
He pulled me into him, his entire body engulfing mine as he hugged me.
He bought me a really beautiful dress, so I think I will let him.
He buried his head on my neck and placed a kiss there.
“You are here, you are finally here.”
I felt him as he slowly drifted off to sleep.
He is so warm and so strong.
His grip on me is firm, and I expected to feel caged or suffocated, but I didn’t feel like that.
I never felt like that with Ezra, and I don’t really want to find out why.
So I let myself relax and also slowly drifted off to sleep.
In this room, he is Ezra, and I am just Diana.
I woke up the next morning and was still in his arms.
He was fully awake, his attention on my face like he was memorizing it.
The way he looks at me is as if I am not real, and I am just a figment of his imagination.
“Morning,” he said as he kissed my forehead with a massive grin on his face.
Today is the coronation, which would explain why he is so happy.
“I had no idea that you wanted to be Alpha King so bad. You never alluded to it.”
He looked at me, confused like he had no idea what I was talking about.
The realization dawned, and he just sighed like it’s not a big deal.
If he isn’t happy about the coronation, then why did he wake up in such a good mood?
He pulled me even closer to him, and I frowned.
“Your little thing is poking my back.”
This made him chuckle, and he turned me around, and now his little thing was poking my stomach.
“You can grind on it, like you did that first night.” He leaned into my ear and slowly licked it.
“The memory of you riding me like that will always be in my head.”
I felt that as he got harder, the more he talked about it.
“Stop thinking about it and stop talking about such things so early in the morning. Why are you such a pervert?” I asked him, and he just chuckled at this.
“A pervert? Coming from you?” he retorted, and I looked at him, shocked.
Yes, I made one stupid mistake of letting my feelings get the best of me, and I am suddenly a pervert.
“Fine, whoever is the one to beg will forever have the title of pervert.”
He thought about it and then looked at me before nodding.
He placed a kiss on my forehead and got off the bed.
I cleaned up the room and the bed while he was getting ready in the shower.
Made sure to place a blanket on the couch once again in case we got an unwanted visitor even today.
When Ezra was done, I went to the bathroom and also freshened up.
When I got out, he was sitting on the couch, looking at his iPad, and seemed so focused.
“Today we will eat breakfast with everyone. Is there anything you need from me?” he asked me.
I looked at him, shocked.
He is asking me for directions on how I want him to act around everyone.
How can someone be so cute?
Wait. Did I just think that Ezra is cute?
No, that can’t be, he isn’t cute even for a second.
“Well, let’s keep our distance for now and don’t come to my defense.”
He listened, and he didn’t seem to like it but just nodded.
I watched as he picked up his glasses, put them on, and gestured for us to go.
We got to the pack dining area, a massive table that I had never sat on because I was young back then, was laid there.
With about 30 chairs, only two of the chairs were left vacant.
I looked around, and my eyes landed on Zayn, who was sitting way too far from Ezra’s chair.
When we walked in, all heads bowed to us, and I could tell that most people didn’t like it.
His mother sat on the right while Justin sat on his left.
I looked at Ezra’s mother, and I couldn’t help but scoff.
“You are in my seat.”
The look she gave me, she doesn’t realize that she is no longer the Queen Luna.
“What? I am the Queen Luna of this pack,” she said, and I shook my head.
“You forgot the word dowager. With your son now being King, you are just a dowager. A mother wants to take her daughter-in-law’s place. Have some dignity.”
I watched how she stared at me, but she knew I was right.
Her time had come to an end, and the only person now permitted to sit by Ezra’s right side is me.
I watched as everyone started moving along the line, and I couldn’t help but smile.
There were only two vacant chairs; the other one was Ezra’s, and the next one was next to a group of omegas.
The future Queen Luna was expected to sit with Omegas.
She moved, Ezra sat down, and everyone followed after that.
You sat according to your rank; the Alpha King will sit down first, followed by his Luna and then his high-ranking officials.
The food started coming in, and even then, you wait for the Alpha King to have the first bite.
Huh, these stupid rules in this day and age are annoying.
My father never did this, so I did something I shouldn’t have.
I picked up a piece of bacon and took a bite before Ezra could.
The entire room stared at me like I had lost my mind, but I just ignored them.
I am already considered the daughter of a traitor.
What do I gain from following rules that have nothing to do with me?
Ezra didn’t say a word and also started eating like it was nothing.
“So, when will the wedding be?”
Camille broke the silence, looking at me.
The wedding?
Whose wedding?
Then it clicked, my wedding with Ezra.
“He hasn’t decided yet,” I responded, looking at Ezra.
“Oh gosh, I can’t wait to help you with the planning. Our wedding was like a dream, and I still remember some of the things you had on your dream wedding vision board.” Camille said.
I looked at her and realized that I once had a dream wedding vision board.
Camille sighed, the kind that made everyone look at her.
She then looked down as if she felt sorry and guilty about something.
I knew what was coming next; I could actually hear the words before she said them.
“But of course, in that vision board, you were getting married to Justin.”
All eyes turned to Justin, who now looked uncomfortable and looked at Camille as if asking her to stop.
“Your entire life revolved around him back then, didn’t it?
You wanted him to be your first kiss, saved your virginity for him, and also had plans of marrying him.
One would say he was your first love, but we both know that first loves never really work out.”
I looked at her, and for a second there, I was amazed.
She has a talent for saying the most venomous things in the sweetest voice.
But she was the least of my concerns; she didn’t feel the murderous intent Ezra had towards her.
Actually, no one seemed to notice, and that is what makes this man scary.
How can they not feel that they might be drawing their last breath?
I have to stop him somehow; death would be too easy for them.
How do I tell Ezra to stop?
I have to find a way to tell him to stop.
Suddenly, Ezra turned to me.
‘You want me to stop? Why should I?’
His voice was in my head again, and I looked at him.
It dawned on me that somehow I managed to use this bond between us to talk to him.
‘Yes, stop what you are doing. You can’t kill them.’
I could feel him rolling his eyes at me behind those glasses.
‘How about we make a deal?’ I asked him.
What deal should I make with him?
