4.
The next few days of work went by in a blur. It was so busy. I barely had a chance for anything. Updates:
Candy is alive and well, I know you were all so desperate to find out, apparently it was a s**t time though and she won’t be going back there any time soon. But a new group of young adults moved into her parents house for the week so she’s scoping that out.
Brody is alive and well also, I thought maybe he’d avoid me after that kiss but it seems nothing has changed. If anything I’ve been helping him more and it has never been brought up, I’m happy with that. I truly believe it was a mistake on both our parts.
And Harry, has barely left my side in the afternoons after work and brings me an iced coffee almost daily after his surf with the boys. I’ve had dinners with them and Macy, and it’s like a mini relationship…that will end in a week. It’s nice.
As soon as I finished up this afternoon I had my days off finally, the week felt so long. And there was a party tonight. Candy somehow persuaded the people in her parents house to have a ‘gathering’ even though Candy told anyone who would listen, and was legally of age but younger that 30, that there was a party.
Since she lived on site I would just be meeting her there, walking up with Harry, Jono, Mac and Macy. I made sure I had a proper shower and washed my hair, not just an ocean shower. I put a bit more makeup on that usual and wore my hair the same way as always, down. I put on almost skin tight black jeans and a white crop top. Simple yet it could turn heads. It was a high neck crop, but all curves were on show in a way. Leave them wondering right? Not that it mattered. I wasn’t looking for anyone, but it’s nice to look good.
Walked up the road to the house we could already hear the music and I’m pretty sure I could feel the bass under my feet. I could tell this could be shut down pretty quick, but at least it takes about 45 minutes for the ranger to get here, probably an hour and a half when he realises what address it is. I was already a few beers down and happy with the buzz, as we walked the rest talked about trivial stuff, I had only one ear on the conversation, and was looking across at the ocean. It was beautiful from up on the hill, I could see the caravan park below and ocean that stretched forever, that was it. I could even see Brody out on his site having a beer, then I realised, why was I looking at his site. I faced forward again, before I tripped or walked into a pole, I wouldn’t put it past me.
Harry squeezed my hand like he knew something was up, I looked up at him and smiled, he was beaming as he looked at me. It was nice but I had a feeling I was starting to get bored. He was one hundred percent for me, and that could be tiresome. One week and it was already boring, no spark. I could hold on for a week though, as I’ve already said a million time, he’s hot and sweet.
“Are you okay?” He asked, just to prove my point.
“Yeah of course,” I squeezed his hand back.
“We’re almost there,” I told the group.
“We can tell by the music,” Mac laughed.
It still wasn’t as close as the music perceived it to be.
Couple minutes later we got to the house and it was an all out rager. The street was full with cars which meant locals from the other towns close to us must be here, considering if you were holidaying here you didn’t need a car you could walk everywhere.
There was already people passed out on the lawn, or vomiting or making out, some both all at once. I laughed. This was definitely a Candy party.
We got out the back to where the party really was and the boys saw some other surfers they met.
Harry went to pull me the same direction but I pulled back.
“I’m going to find Candy, I’ll see you in a bit,” I pretty much had to yell over the music even though he was right in front of me.
He nodded and turned to follow his friend to the group of guys.
I headed straight for the table with the drinks.
I stood behind it and made myself a strong drink while I scanned over the crowd, a lot of people I didn’t know obviously, but almost everyone I had seen somewhere or another. There was a few locals I did know that I knew I’d have to go speak to at some point, but all in all, there wasn’t anyone I was excited to see. How sad.
I drank that drink while I people watched and then made another ready to brave the party and mingle.
As I was making my drink I got a massive slap on the back and almost spilled my drink everywhere, lucky for my cat like reflexes I caught it as it tipped and only spilled a drop.
“Sorry,” Josh laughed.
“It’s all good, how have you been?” I looked up at him. I forgot how tall he was.
I actually loved that about him, we dated, the first and only local that I’ve dated. Well not local to my town so does that even count? But when we were together, the cuddles and kisses were so good because of his height, he could lift me with barely any effort and could wrap me up so easily.
“Yeah good, business as usual,” he shrugged, he was from a farming town, “you look good.”
I blushed, I couldn’t help it, “yeah I’m good thanks, caravan park busy as fuck.”
“I didn’t say are you good, I said you look good,” he leant down and yelled in my ear like I didn’t hear what he said.
I looked up at him nodding, “I know,” I laughed.
He rolled his eyes and shook his head, “you never were good with compliments.”
I shrugged, “I can’t help it.”
I heard a girl called Jessica yell for Josh.
I am not a fan of Jessica, she’s from Harbour Hill, the next beach town over, and completely in love with Josh. Was trying to get into his pants constantly while we were dating.
I looked up at josh, “been going to the Harbour a lot recently?”
“Don’t be jealous,” he joked.
I scoffed at him, “oh I’m definitely not.”
“Well I haven’t been don’t worry.”
I shook my head, “I’m not worried.”
At that point Harry spotted me and came wondering over.
“Don’t worry, you can go speak to Jessica, I’ll be fine.”
“Don’t feed me to the wolves like that,” Josh laughed. Jessica was full on, we weren’t even allowed to call her Jess.
“Hey mate, you alright?” Harry asked Josh as he came up to the opposite side of the table.
“Yeah good mate, you?” Josh looked confused, he didn’t know who this guy was, and I could see his defensive side. His shoulders always bunched up when he was alert.
“Here, I’ll get you a beer,” I said to Harry, rummaging through the esky.
“I’m Harry, El’s boyfriend,” I heard Harry say to Josh, holding out his hand.
“Whoa, steady on cowboy,” I laughed. Josh shook Harry’s hand and then I gave him a beer.
“I’m Josh, the actual cowboy,” Josh smiled.
That’s what I loved about Josh, he was always making a joke, even though I could see this was a tense situation for him.
Harry was acting jealous and defensive of his property…which he did not own.
“Did you find Candy?” Harry asked me, almost trying to push Josh out of the conversation and away from us.
I liked that Harry was all about me, but this was too far, Josh was still my friend after all. We ended things well over a year ago now, and we’re super civil. It’s not like we were serious.
“Nah, I didn’t have a chance, bumped into Josh, my friend,” I emphasised friend to calm Harry down. He didn’t care, he was chill now, he thought he had the upper hand. But he didn’t. I was so put off. Especially about saying he was my boyfriend. You’ll be gone in a week. You’ll be a nice memory, as long as you don’t continue down this path. Josh was already gone anyway.
Harry nodded, sipping his beer, we walked off to where Jono, Mac and Macy were chatting.
Not long later Candy finally found me, she almost jumped on me, she was very drunk, but at least she was a happy drunk.
“El,” she screamed, as I struggled to put her down on her feet, “where have you been! I’ve been looking for you.”
“I’ve been here,” I laughed.
“Come get a drink with me,” she whined.
“With pleasure,” I wasn’t in a bad mood, but I was definitely in a mood. Harry being over bearing made me want to break free and let loose for a while.
I downed the end of my drink and left it on a nearby table, wandering off with Candy, her holding my hand as she skipped off to the other side of the party.
I made myself a dark and stormy will classy Candy poured a red cup full of Prosecco.
“Oh my god there’s Hanson, let’s go play beer pong!” This girl was all over the place.
I laughed, it was enjoyable, and I followed her as she run off.
Hanson was a friend from Harbour Hill, he had just finished beer pong and was racking up for the next one.
Once again Candy ran and jumped. Hanson was swift to catch her.
“Hey El,” Hanson nodded at me.
“We’re next,” Candy declared.
Hanson laughed, “you don’t have hand eye coordination at the best of times.”
“I get better when I’m drunk, and El will just do all the work.”
I rolled my eyes and helped Hanson rack up.
“Well she’s not wrong,” Hanson laughed, pouring the beers as I placed them in their formation, “I’ll go easy on you.”
“No need, you know that,” I elbowed him lightly in the waist.
“My partner is the reigning champ after all.”
That was Josh.
“Josh! That’s not fair!” Candy interrupted.
“He doesn’t even have to throw, he just places them in the lanky f**k,” I declared.
I heard Josh lose it behind me, he almost fell to the floor in a joking matter, bracing his sides.
“It’s not my fault I’m gifted,” he stood upright and walked to the other side of the table, “here we’ll even let you start.”
“You’ll regret that choice,” I said as I lobbed the ping pong ball, right into the front cup.
“Oh girl got skills,” Hanson sang.
But after too many jokes and insults we eventually lost the game, but by one cup which was an achievement in itself, when my partner was no help at all.
After my focuses moved from the table I could see Harry, watching us, which I assumed he must’ve been doing the whole time. And he didn’t seem too happy. I almost forgot about him if I was honest. I hadn’t seen my long term friends in a long time that I forgot about everything that had been going on. It was a surprisingly good night considering, I didn’t expect there to be that many people, and especially that many locals. I think I really needed it. After being care taker on my own then running around this busy season I needed a proper night off.
We went well into the early hours when it was just some of us locals sitting on Candy’s porch. Even the hosts had gone to bed, even Harry had left without me, which I had to thank Jono and Mac for, you could see he did not want to leave without me. His jealousy was paramount tonight and I was uninterested in that.
“It was good to see you,” Josh softly nudged his should into me as we sat on the end of the porch nursing out last beers, “I feel like it’s been forever.”
“I think it has been,” I laughed.
He smiled, “I miss that.”
“What?” I looked up at him. Even crunched down he was so much taller than me. And no girl could ever forget that smile. It was slightly more pronounced on one side as he was a bit drunk.
“Your carefree manner,” he said, “so surprising for a city girl.”
“Hey,” I pushed back against him lightly playfully hurt by his insult, “I ain’t no city girl any more.”
“Yeah not anymore,” he said, “you ain’t a cowgirl either.”
I laughed at the reference from the start of the night, “that’s your loss then isn’t it cowboy.”
“It is.”
I looked at Josh, as he looked at me silently, his eyes were half closed from the alcohol but I could still tell how piercing they were and how much he wanted me by his gaze. He really did look like the perfect country bad boy. Not the thank you ma’am kind but the, take what he wants when he wants type. But he was definitely not that. Maybe he was the perfect guy, and a lot comes with that, when every girl wants what you have. But maybe for a night. And I’m not anyone’s property like some may think. Why do I always end up in the situations that Candy loves. I don’t love them! But don’t forget that I am drunk as well, just because I’m telling the story doesn’t mean I don’t get horny when I’m drunk as f**k.
He noticed me looking at him for a long time as well.
“I definitely shouldn’t drive home,” he pondered.
I laughed slightly, “there was no way you came here without your swag.”
“Come on El, why do you never play this game?” He moaned.
He meant the playing dumb, or playing flirty if you will. This is the way he wanted it to go; ‘I definitely shouldn’t drive home,’ and then ‘no, you can’t drive,’ and then ‘well can I stay on your couch?’ And he’s a gentlemen, so he would, for 15 mins and then find his way to my bed. Standing at the end of it with no shirt on, ready to f**k me.
I shrugged, “I thought you knew me.”
He rolled his eyes, “I got to be plain and simple with you don’t I?”
I smirked and nodded.
From nodding my head some of my hair fell into my face and Josh was quick to push it back behind my ears. Such a gentleman.
“Those eyes,” I heard him murmur to himself.
I looked away and took a big swig of beer. This much chemistry was too much for me to handle.
That’s when I noticed everyone else had left the patio. Our friends were nothing but subtle. I turned the other way and looked into Candy’s flat, they were all in the living room drinking, half of them almost got whiplash as I caught them watching.
“Hey,” he pulled my chin towards him with his thumb and index finger.
I looked at him expectantly.
“Can I stay with you tonight?”
I pretended to think about it.
He laughed, “f*****g hell Elody. Fine I’ll just go home with Jess.”
“Whoa,” I laughed, “I was about to say yes too.”
“f**k ya,” he grabbed me and tickled at my sides.
“Stop, stop,” I laughed, pulling his hands away.
He stood up off the patio and held his hand out for mine, it was a long jump down onto the grass for me.
I grabbed his hand and jumped down, his other hand went around my waist so I dropped down gently.
He was leaning down as he held onto my waste and I looked up at him, my knees almost buckled underneath me he gazed so intensely into my eyes. And also the alcohol most likely.
“Ready to go then?” He asked.
I nodded, “let’s go.”
We somehow made it home, to be honest I barely remember. But it was fun, it’s always much more fun getting home after drinking. I don’t know how many people would’ve woke up with my piercing cackle of a laugh as we walked through to my van. Being at the bottom of the hill the sound seems to echo through the caravan park. But when I laugh properly, it’s high pitched. And Josh could always make me really laugh. He always followed it with trying to ‘shhh’ me though.
We finally got the caravan and I stumbled to unzip the annex. Fumbling with it Josh came up behind me and held onto my waist. It startled me and I jumped up straight, turning to face him.
“Are you right there?” I laughed. Trying to be quiet.
He still held onto my waist, if anything pulling me slightly closer to him, or was that me stumbling?
He nodded.
“So you’re not going to be a gentleman and attempt to sleep on the couch?” I asked. I was surprised, I knew he’d most likely end up in my bed, but usually he’d at least pretend to be a gentleman or wait for something I did to tell him yes, it was okay.
“Not this time,” he said. This time pulling my waist even closer and bending down and kissing me on the neck.
I couldn’t help but put my arms around his shoulders, getting on my tippy toes. It’s not just me having an actual soft spot! You ask any girl, height is a thing. Something about being completely helpless to them, he could squash me if he wanted.
He let go of me, “unzip this f*****g thing.”
I laughed out loud, and of course he ‘shh’d me.
I bent down and unzipped it, this time with ease. I unlocked my van and walked inside.
“Ah f**k,” I heard Josh mutter and the van shake. Of course he hit his head.
I pretty much dropped to the floor laughing to myself as he fell onto the bed rubbing his head.
“You’re hilarious,” I said, getting up slowly.
He sat up onto his elbows, “come here,” he beckoned me over by nodding his head.
“I need to have a shower first,” I told him.
“I’ll give you a shower.”
I laughed, coming over to him and standing at the end of the bed between his legs, “this is a family park Joshua Dawson how dare you.” I put my southern belle accent on.
“Well Miss Clark, I do believe we are in the confines of your home,” he put both his hands out for me, and I took them in mine.
“Kind sir, you hit your head on the way in, how do you expect to fit in the shower with me?”
“I’ll find a way,” his accent was gone, he sat up and grabbed me by my waist and pulled me down to him.
I giggled as he went back to kissing my neck, his arms around me so I couldn’t move.
He flipped me around so he was on top of me, and he stopped and just stared down at me.
He took his finger and pushed stray hairs behind my ears once again, this time lingering his hands on my neck.
“What?” I asked quietly, searching his eyes.
“You,” he whispered back, his hand still on my neck he leant down and kissed me lightly, but passionately.
“I’ve been waiting a year for you,” he said, kissing me lightly once again.
I believe that was all talk, to get into my pants. But I didn’t care, what girl thinks rationally in the moment? Especially drunk. Those words coursed through me and sent tingles down my spine and all I wanted to do was hold on. I wrapped my arms around his neck and deepened our kiss. As soon as I did I licked his lips and they opened. His tongue found mine but only for a second and then josh pulled back. Sitting up on his knees over me.
He looked down at me for a moment, then he tugged at my skin tight top, “how am I even suppose to get this off?” His voice was so deep I couldn’t help but laugh. Rolling to my side.
He laughed too, “I was going to sexily undress you for a shower.”
I sat up and unzipped the side of my top, “I can help with that.”
“You can’t even live in the moment can you,” Josh mused.
He pulled off my shirt and I leant up, starting to unbutton his.
“I try, it just doesn’t work,” I laughed. “I know there’s no such thing as fairy tales.”
He pulled his shirt off as I finished unbuttoning it, he looked me dead in the eyes, “only because you won’t let there be.”
Then I saw something shift in his eyes and he was playful again, “now get up and turn that shower on.”
“Yes sir,” the accent came back. I rolled off to the side of the bed and stood up, turning the shower on. Remember this is a caravan, the shower is literally next to my bed.
Josh knelt on the bed behind me, moving around me to unbutton my pants and pull them down as I tested the water. Now this all may not sound sexy to most, but having so many people, guys, come and go in your life, it’s nice to not have something new. It was nice to just already know someone and not have to find out what they like or vice versa. When Josh tapped the back of my knee I lifted my leg up, and then the next. Yes, Josh is very caring, and I use to be a big drunk, even more so than now, this wasn’t new having to shower and undress me.
A few moments later I could feel Josh’s arms wrapped around me once more, but now his whole body was bare behind me. His soft skin and fair hair tickled mine and I spun around to see him. He was already bent down and his lips were on mine before I even had a chance to breath. It wasn’t soft kisses this time, he was aggressive now as his lips pressed hard against mine, his tongue pushed against my lips as I parted them, our tongues danced together and my hands went instinctively on the back of his neck. I gripped and pulled as I felt his hands slide down my waist to my ass, cupping me as he lifted me up to rest me on his hips. I wrapped my legs around him as he stepped into the shower. His lips still hadn’t left mine as we backed into the shower and the hot water fell onto my back. I gasped for a moment, not ready for the water, and as I did Josh bit my bottom lip. I still had my bra on, but Josh managed to unclasp it and throw it out of the shower and onto the bed.
His mouth left mine and went straight for my breast, due to Josh’s height he had me up against the wall of the caravan, with my head to the side, my hands pushing up against the roof as I moaned from the circular motions his tongue was making across my n*****s. I jolted against him as what felt like electricity courses through my veins and straight to in between my legs. Josh could feel this of course and moved to the other breast he had deprived of his touch. I couldn’t do anything in this position and that’s what Josh liked. His hand that was on my back holding me against him as he moved to the opposite breast briefly before resting it back on my neck where it once was, pushing me slightly back into the wall even more, his other hand from under my ass he moved forward, squeezing my hip bone downwards, pinning me to my spot against the wall and him. He finally pulled me down slightly as his face became level with mine once again. Water was soaking us completely but we didn’t seem to care. Both my hands went straight to his neck as I pulled him towards me and kissed him deeply, urgently. I pushed my hips forward against him, his hand dipped between us and he slowly pulled my soaking panties down until he could easily use his fingers to part my folds and find my c**t. He gently rubbed it until he could feel my back arch just enough. Then he followed the slit down until he could reach my opening and feel how ready I was. And in one swift motion his fingers retreated and he used them to hold onto the bottom of my panties and rip them straight off. I moaned so loudly I almost cried out.
“What?” I could feel Josh laugh between kisses.
“That was a new trick,” I had to gasp. I could barely breathe, in a good way, don’t worry.
“I’ll show you one more,” and with that his chin nestled into my neck and his member pounded straight into me.
“Ah f**k,” I groaned.
What usually would have to ease in became easy with how wet I was as well as the running water of the shower.
“You okay?” Josh moaned into my ear.
I gripped onto the hair on the back of his head as he drove into me again.
“f**k yes,” is all I could whisper.
I had to bite my lip so hard I could almost taste blood to stop myself from screaming out as Josh drove harder and harder into me. He held me right where he needed me to be with one hand, his other fondling my c**t, and all I had to do was hold on for dear life until we were both satisfied. And that didn’t take long at all.
My legs felt like they shook for eternity, wave after wave, until I could feel Josh finally release as he moaned in my ear, I cradled his head to my shoulder as he slowly slowed down. After a moment he put me down and kissed me on my forehead.
Grabbing the shower gel we cleaned ourselves off before finally turning off the water.
I could’ve literally just fallen into a wet heap on the bed, I was that exhausted and felt like my legs could give way at any moment. But before I had a chance Josh wrapped a towel around his waist then grabbed another to dry me off. He wrapped it around my shoulders and then just rubbed.
I laughed at his efforts, I could barely keep my eyes open, I think I was almost delirious.
“You’re cute when you’re drunk,” Josh laughed, pulling the top of the covers down and sitting me on the bed.
I laid down as he dried himself off, “you’re cute when you take advantage of me.”
“You’re jokes are s**t,” he pushed me into the middle of the bed and slid in next to me.
“Sorry, I had to,” I turned so I was facing him and wrapped my arms around his neck, “I don’t like missed opportunities.”
At this point I couldn’t help what I said or did. Before I still had control, but all that adrenaline sent the alcohol straight to my head.
“Yeah me neither,” Josh said, wrapping his arms around my waist.
I put one leg on his, so he put his other on mine, then I put my last one on his.
“I win,” I giggled.
He laughed into my hair, “you’re such a dork.”
“No, you are,” I came back at him.
I couldn’t hear it but I could feel his body vibrate with laughter. He skin was so smooth against mine my hands moved down to explore his back. He was fitter than he was before, he was always fit and lean, but he seemed more built now, his muscles more defined. Then there came a point where I couldn’t open my eyes anymore, I could hear Josh speaking to me but I couldn’t comprehend the words, and then they just slowly faded out.
