It was well after midnight and the majority of Lucian’s guests had left.
I was told by his beta, who approached me an hour beforehand, that I was to remain back until more than half of the patrons had returned home. Since this entire gala was to introduce me back into the higher circles of society, I was already anticipating that such a request would have been expected.
I was tired. Actually, I was downright exhausted.
