After a brisk walk through what felt like never ending corridors Sally finally made it to the office. Faced with big green eyes of the receptionist Sally greeted Mrs adlam kindly “good afternoon Mrs adlam, I’m just hear to drop in my findings from the museum tour today” Mrs adlam was short in stature barely making it above the desk in height she used a step to bring herself up to see Sally clearer. Mrs adlam was a dwarf with extra magical abilities from her witch mother. At 43 she was still alone with no companion to spend her life with (not that she wanted one, even changing her status to Mrs so people would leave her alone). Sally found comfort in that knowing she herself didn’t have any friends or lovers. “Thankyou very much Sally” brushing her bright orange curly hair out of her face she asked “how was the school trip my dear, make any friends this time?” Sally smiled warmly and sarcastically replied “Mrs adlam you know I have plenty of friends” tapping her head she replied “in here” and with that Sally turned on her heel and walked away from the receptions desk, listening to the cackling laughter that followed behind her. Finally it’s the end of the day no classes remained as the museums trip had taken a whole 6 hours to complete. Tired she prepared for the walk home. Sally lived 2 miles from the school she attended, she did not yet drive and of course didn’t speak to anybody so she was always walking alone. This particular day was extremely windy so Sally tied her long hair out of her face swung on her big puffy coat and trudged through the car park towards the Main Street. Thinking to herself about all the creatures she learnt about today a strange feeling over came her, one that felt as though she was being watched. When Sally was 10 years old her mother gave a beautiful cold blue pendant to her telling her never to take it off. Not questioning her mother she had worn it everyday from that point onwards. Never paying any mind to it but right now the stone was so cold it was burning her chest, in nearly 8 years Sally hadn’t thought to take the necklace off once but now all she could think of was removing the cold stone from her body immediately. With shaking fingers from the pain Sally unclasped the necklace and held it out by the chain rubbing her chest to put some warmth back into that part of her body. Hard heavy footsteps sounded behind her almost as if a giant was running towards her exact spot in the street just as she was about to turn around her mother frantically beeped her car horn, pulled right up beside Sally bouncing off the curb and screamed to get in. Without turning Sally opened the door and slid in confused by her mothers sudden appearance and Manic behaviour. Mrs froid Sallys mother sped off at the speed of light making Sally clutch onto her chair her knuckles turning white.
