The Royals stepped forward without hesitation, moving in perfect, practiced formation. Lucy blinked. She understood what was happening—but she couldn’t move. Her body refused. Her hand remained locked in Kyle’s, the only anchor she had. But he was paralyzed, too stunned to react, too shocked to protect her.
