SLYVARA POV
Morrin laughed, a low, cold sound that made my stomach twist. His eyes snapped to mine, dark and sharp.
Then he started chanting. Strange words, twisting in the air like smoke. My chest tightened. My vision blurred.
A searing pain tore through me. My bones screamed. I fell to my knees, hands clutching at my arms as something inside me snapped. My eyes burned red. My fangs bit down on my lip to keep from screaming, but I couldn't hold it. My body shook violently as I tried to control it.
"Syl!" Kaelen roared.
Before I could even focus, he was there. He grabbed Morrin by the neck and slammed him into the wall. The sound of impact echoed through the chamber.
