In a stranger's bed

Elena's eyelids blinked, and her eyes fluttered open. Groggily, she took in her surroundings. She wasn't in her room. The ceiling above her was high and ornate, with intricate designs that seemed to dance in the soft light. The walls were painted a deep, rich color, and the furniture was sleek and modern. She tried to remember how she got there, but her head throbbed, making her wince. "I must have slept off," she mumbled, clutching her head tight. As she struggled to sit up, a strong arm tightened around her stomach, pulling her back into a rock-solid chest. Her eyes widened, and she froze. Slowly, memories of the previous night began to flood her mind. She had gone to the club, determined to drown her sorrows in alcohol. But she must have gotten more drunk than she intended because she ended up in this hotel room. With a stranger. Panic set in as she recalled entering the room, meeting the mysterious man, and...and spending the night with him. His touches, his kisses, they still lingered on her skin, making her feel vulnerable and exposed. Elena's heart raced as she tried to process what had happened. She didn't even know his name, or what he looked like, for that matter. All she remembered was the way he made her feel - desired, wanted, and alive. "Stupid, stupid, stupid!" Elena berated herself, struggling to free herself from the stranger's grasp. Her mind raced, but she couldn't think straight - all she wanted was to escape the room. The thought of facing the stranger she had spent the night with was too daunting. With a surge of determination, she managed to extricate herself from his embrace and swung her legs over the side of the bed, her feet searching for solid ground. As she stood up, her gaze fell upon the scattered remnants of her dignity - her dress lay crumpled on the floor, her underwear tossed carelessly across the room. Embarrassment washed over her like a crimson tide, and she bit her lower lip hard, the pain a welcome distraction from her shame. Steeling herself, she walked over to her clothes and picked them up, her movements slow and deliberate as she put them on. Without daring to glance at the man on the bed, she tiptoed towards the door, her heart pounding in her chest. She had barely taken three steps when a deep, dark voice halted her in her tracks. "Is this how you leave after spending a night with me?" The words sent a shiver down her spine. Elena froze, her eyes wide with alarm, and slowly turned around to face the stranger. Her breath caught in her throat as she took in the sight of him sitting on the bed, fully awake and watching her with an intensity that made her skin prickle. His hair was mussed, and the remnants of sleep still clung to his face, but his eyes burned with a piercing awareness that left her feeling exposed and vulnerable. Her eyes locked onto the stranger, her mind racing for a response, but her words caught in her throat. She stuttered, "I-I...," but couldn't form a coherent sentence. The stranger chuckled, a low, husky sound that made her face burn with shame. "Ah, I see," he said, his voice dripping with amusement. "You're one of those who leaves without collecting their pay, huh?" Elena's anger ignited like a spark to gasoline. "How dare you!" she yelled, her voice trembling with rage. "You think I'm some kind of...of...slut who sleeps with men for money?" The man raised an eyebrow, his expression unrepentant. "Well, didn't you?" Elena's fury boiled over. "I didn't want to sleep with you, you...you...!" She spat the words at his face. "I don't want to see you again, ever! You'd better not show your face in front of me!" With that, she stormed out of the room, her anger burning like wildfire inside her. The man smiled, seemingly unperturbed, but his expression faltered when he noticed a red stain on the sheet. His eyes widened as he realized the truth - he had just taken her virginity. The smile wiped off his face, replaced by a look of shock and concern. He sat there, frozen, as the door slammed shut behind Elena, leaving him alone with the weight of his actions. •••••••••• Elena slammed the door behind her, her heart racing with anger and humiliation. She couldn't believe what had just happened. She had never felt so used and degraded in her life. Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes, but she refused to let them fall. She wouldn't give him the satisfaction. She stepped out of the hotel and flagged down a taxi. She gave the driver her home address, and the car pulled away from the curb. When they arrived at her house, she paid the fare and watched as the taxi drove off into the distance. As she stood before her family's middle-class home, a mix of anger and pain swirled inside her. The people waiting for her inside were the very ones who had driven her to seek solace in the club, to end up in a stranger's bed, and to be labeled a slut. Shaking the thoughts off, she walked into the house, and Sophia's condescending smile greeted her. "Well, well, well, look who's finally decided to come home," Sophia sneered, her voice dripping with sarcasm. Elena tried to brush past her, but Sophia wouldn't let up. "I'm just wondering, how do you think Dad will react when he finds out you were out all night? Will he be disappointed or furious?" Sophia asked, her eyes gleaming with malice. Elena's anger flared, and she spun around to face Sophia. "Keep your voice down, Sophia, or I swear I'll lose my temper!" she warned, her eyes flashing with anger. August, their father, stormed into the room, his eyes darting from Elena to Sophia before settling on Elena. "Where are you coming from?" he demanded. Elena let out a loud scoff, her eyes flashing with anger. "Now you care? Stop pretending to be a father who gives a damn about his daughter. It doesn't suit you," she spat bitterly, her glare piercing through him like a dagger. "Elena!!" August yelled, but Elena just rolled her eyes and kept climbing the stairs, ignoring her father's shouts. As she turned the corner to head to her room, she heard August s ay to Sophia, "Don't worry, I'll handle her soon.”
