Author Notes When I first wrote Released, I was preparing to write it in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). It's a great way to puke out a rough draft. 50,000 words in the month of November, every November. I made the 50,000 words that year and several after. I always plan to start preparing at least in September but especially in October. Yeah. I freaked when it hit October 28 and I was putting the Halloween candy out. Panic. So I took the easy way out: setting—Osceola, Nebraska—where I live, main character's name—Clarence, my dad's name. Whew! That's done! (I don't think he will care—he's in heaven!)
