Ten Katty watched as two nurses in scrubs guided the gurney through the double doors marked surgery. A white sheet covered Bea’s tiny body. Katty hugged the teddy bear to her chest, wishing she was hugging Bea. When a volunteer had tucked a soft, pink teddy beside Bea, the woman looked up at Katty and had slipped her one too.
