Matt Keaton swerved the club at the ball and sent it flying across the field, for a forty one year old he was already showing a pot belly. He was a far from attractive man and had spent his entire life taking whatever he felt he deserved, he never understood why his elder brother couldn’t see his side of life, he had objected strongly and even threatened to rain hell when Terrence had decided to change his name from Keaton to Wilson, he knew Terrence never agreed with the way their father brought them up after their mom died but he thought of all his father had taught him as pure gold; according to him, men were rightful rulers, he could have anything and anyone he wanted and was free to use whatever he found at his disposal to get whatever he wanted. He loved the life he had, he had been married once and divorced in that same year, since then he had spent his time drinking, spending his money and sleeping with women. He always had his younger brother Paul by his side and together they had done enough harm than good to the people they had come in contact with.
Paul Laughed, “That didn’t go far, you should give up already, you never win at this.” He got ready for his turn. He was not like his brother in a lot of ways, although close minded and nasty like his brother, he was calculating, sinister and cold blooded. He had thought he would succeed their father and it annoyed him to no end that he wasn’t able to complete the winter trials and take the seat at the head of the table.
“Whatever, I win at a lot of other things too.” Matt pouted.
“Yeah, but not in what counts.” Paul smirked as he swung the club and hit the ball, they both watched as the ball flew across the field and landed, rolled and stopped a few feet from the hole.
“Why am I here Paul, we have serious things to discuss and you insist on playing golf.” Matt folded his arms.
“Patience was never one of your strengths, was it?” Paul shook his head and them smiled.
“Fine, what’s the big news.” Matt got closer to him.
“I have finally found the way inside, after all these years, I have finally found the c***k in the armor.” Paul beamed.
“What, no way, we have exhausted every possibility, its can’t be done.” Matt shook his head.
“Listen first, our brother trusts only a few people in this world and we are not part of those people. So I have spent the past two years studying each and every one of them, I have successfully turned them to our side.” Paul leaned forward on the golf club.
“Impossible. Let me tell you something, our brother only trusts six people in this world besides his family and there is no way that they would betray him.” Matt returned his club into the bag.
“I thought the exact same thing, but during my study of their lives, I found the perfect incentive t inspire their support, they are fully on our side and await instructions.” Paul brought out two cigars from his golf bag and lighted them.
“You mean to tell me that you have successfully turned everyone Terry trusts against him?” Matt collected the cigar still looking unconvinced.
“Well not everyone, it would appear that Andrea Hartley is not on our side, she will have to be taken care of.” Paul blew smoke into the air.
“I kinda liked her, she had a nice ass. Do we have to kill her?” Matt asked.
“We are planning to kill our brother and his family, the most powerful family on the planet, we cannot leave anything to chance at all.” Paul remarked.
“When does it go down?” Matt flicked the ash toward the grass.
“Wyatt handles the family’s going in and out and he said we have a window in three days. Liz will be coming back from the Poconos in three days, she will be taken on her way back, Terry is stubborn and it will be impossible to take him when he is in that fortress of a mansion they live in so we will have to take him when he is out looking for her the next day. The children….. The children will be the easiest, with their parents out of the picture, it will be too easy.” Paul put out his cigar on the grass and returned his golf club to the bag.
“That is truly amazing, you have thought of everything. The children should be dealt with swiftly, there is no need for them to suffer.” Matt put out his cigar and the both started towards their cars. If all went well which they hoped, they would be free of their brother and his reign over them in less than a week.
It all happened so fast and within twelve hours, Terrence had heard that his wife had been kidn*pped and rushed to the scene to investigate himself, they had ambushed him minutes after he left his estate and he couldn’t even place what was going on before he was chloroformed. He opened his eyes and he was slowly realized he was in an uncompleted construction site, he looked around and saw his wife by his side. They were both tied with duct tape and she was unconscious, he called to her and realizing that she was still under the effects of whatever they had given her he began to survey the area.
They were in an unpainted empty room with only one door on the other side of the room and a chair facing them, there were no windows and the only method of ventilation was a small fan that was hummed as it blew air around the room, there was a small camera at the top left side of the room facing them directly. He tried shouting to whoever was behind the door and then to the camera and got no reply. Just as he was about to shout again he saw Liz move.
“Hey, hey, are you okay.?” he cooed
“Yeah, what happened?, where are we” panic edged into her voice as she realized their situation.
“I don’t know, but I think I have an Idea on who is behind this.” Just as the words came out of his mouth the doors opened and they all walked in. Shock showed on their faces as the people they had trusted walked in along side Matt and Paul.
“Well well, seems like you finally woke up love.” Paul smirked.
“You little piece of s**t, let me go this instant.” Elizabeth struggled with the tape as she glared at them.
“Oh Elizabeth, the fierce mother. You should not frown, it makes you look ugly.” Matt snickered at her.
“What is this? Why are we here?” Terrence asked.
“Well to put it mildly big brother, you are going to hand over everything you control and won to us, all the company’s authority, ONYX and SOART, all your money, possessions, your contacts and that your little assistant ANDY. Do this and you leave here alive.” Paul sat down on the chair in front of them.
“And why would I do that? You are not going to do anything to us.” Terrence looked at Paul dead in the eye.
“Hmm, really?” Paul said and so fast it looked like it was imagined he pulled a gun from his back and shot Terrence in the leg.
“s**t! You shot me, you bastard. I won’t give you shit.” Terrence clenched his jaw.
“If you hurt him again, I’ll kill you myself.” Elizabeth barked.
“And how will you do that?” Matt sneered and pulled his gun out, aimed it for Elizabeth and shot her in the abdomen.
“Now that we have showed you how serious we are. She is going to die if there is no pressure applied to the wound and there will be no pressure applied to the wound if you don’t cooperate with us now.” Paul laid back in the chair.
Terrence screamed in shock and devastation at his wife as she bled out, she turned to him and they shared a look that meant they knew this was the end for them, they had been right about the fact that some people wanted them dead, there was no way they were going to get out of the room alive and all they could do was hope their plans worked even in their death.
Terrence turned to Paul and sneered, “To do what you ask requires a voice activation not just my say so.”
“All taken care of.” Paul pulled a tablet from his jacket pocket and placed it on Terrence’s lap. “This has been configured into the system, you just need to give the command and it will all be transferred to us. Then you both can leave, you can even keep a car but we will be taking the estate.”
Terrence looked at his wife for the last time and she nodded to him. “ANDY, activate Protocol 111A, 311A and 511A.”
the tablet screen came on and the virtual assistant replied, “Confirmed.”
The confusion on their faces was genuine as Paul stood up, “What did you just do.” Terrence smiled, “You stupid fool, do your worst, you’ll never get anything from us.”
Elizabeth laughed through her pain, she rose her head and smirked at the five of their once trusted circle that stood behind Matt and Paul “We knew none of the five of you you could be trusted anymore so we made a fail safe. You have all been locked out of all the systems, everything from ONYX to SOART is now unavailable to you all. And as for you Matt, Paul, You have both always been weak, pitiful men who have never worked a day in their lives. You have gone lower than even my expectations for you and I never expected much from you both to be honest. Now you will never get a dime out of what is ours and you will pay for what you have done here today.”
Enraged, Matt aimed the gun at he head, “You will correct it now or I kill you.”
“There is no undoing it, do your worst. Know this and be warned; one day, our children will come for you and make you pay for this.” Elizabeth smiled as she said her last words and took a bullet to the head.
Terrence watched as his brother shot his wife, the only woman he had ever loved and the strongest person he had ever met. Tears rolled down his cheek as he closed his eyes. “You will all die horribly for what you have done here today, mark those words.” He closed his eyes and took a bullet to the head from a very enraged Paul.
