Chapter VI

Asya woke up. Her face was lit with the sun’s shine through the small window. It was annoying her. Last thing she remembered was Meliorn coming towards her and Louis’s worried face. After that, it was pure darkness. She was laying a really comfortable bed, covered with a thick white blanket. She looked around the room. The clock was showing 6 o’clock in the afternoon. The room was elegantly decorated with statues, wardrobes and what not. Next to her, was a table with some food on it and a note. It said: When you wake up drink this, then eat. It will make you feel better.   Meliorn And so, she took the dense drink first. It had a sour taste and made her feel slightly light-headed for a minute. Then, she took the food. It was pasta, but she did not know which kind. First, she took a small bite. The taste was amazing, like something she had never eaten before. After she finished, she stood up. In the beginning, walking was difficult. She went through the door. She was inside the castle she had seen on the picture. The whole castle was beige with a light pink color. The floor was covered in a long green rug. In the middle of the floor was a huge hole, through which could be seen the lower floor. Difference was, it was colorful as was the rug. It was meant for parties and meetings. And in the middle, it had a huge wooden table with chairs. To the left and right of her room, were dozens of other rooms in a straight line. All the same size as hers and decorated the same. To the left and right walls, were huge windows with shelves in front of them. On the shelves were tons of different things. From books, to crystals, to weapons, but mostly fighting stuff. At the opposite side were the stairs. They were huge and narrow. It was strange that the whole castle was empty. There was also another upper floor, but Asya decided to leave the exploring for later and check if there is anyone here. Her anxiety slightly came. She saw the sun through the window. The sunlight was not the same as theirs. It was brighter. The whole place felt different and so did Asya. As she was walking, she thought: Why do I feel like I was meant to be here? Something about the place made her feel at home. But then, she thought of how she left her father and got the urge to go back. She was wondering where Louis was too. She could see everything on the lower floor now. To the left was a huge opened door. It was as tall as the wall and almost as wide. Sunlight was shining through the door onto the table. The table only had a big candle in the middle and a long red rectangular tablecloth with golden ends. On the right side were 2 tall elegant chairs and to the both sides of them, smaller chairs. On one of the big chairs was the same golden crown with sharp endings she had seen in her dreams. The king must have left it there thought Asya. She was amazed as a first time in a castle. The other chair had a wand. This wand is made out of Yucca Wood, which often favors those with a talent for healing spells. The handle is made out of Redwood, which in turn strongly favors those with a lot of pride. However, the combination of this strand of Yucca Wood and Redwood means the wand will seek out somebody without even an inkling of an interest in the darker arts. A wand usually has 1 or 2 cores, but some have 3, this wand has 1 core. A core of crow feather which enhances natural magic spells. The particular strand of Yucca Wood used in this wand is quite ordinary, which helps reduce the production cost of the wand, however, crow feather is quite rare, resulting in a wand priced in the mid-ranges. On the walls were tons of pictures. Most of them where the kingdom or people she did not know. She noticed, on one of the pictures was a tall young man. His frilly outfit was based on Gothic aesthetics and was done primarily in light colors.  It involved a pair of heeled shoes and tunic.  Accessories included a silk scarf and a narrow-brimmed pointed hat. Beneath the picture was written Sibell the Thunderborn, 1962. He looked quite handsome and a little scary. As she was looking through the pictures, Meliorn came inside. He looked calm. He was wearing normal clothes. Some pants and a T-shirt. Asya saw him and waved a hand at him. He was wearing a plain shirt and left it unbuttoned at the top for a more casual look. On top of the shirt, he was wearing a stylish vest with 7 buttons, it has a very narrow v-line, which allows for a large portion of the top to remain visible, even if the suit's jacket is buttoned up. The jacket fitted him like a glove, a tailored glove. It had an elegant windowpane pattern which radiates confidence. The 3 buttons of his single-breasted jacket have been left unbuttoned, he was clearly going for a more casual look, but at the same time he looked elegant as well. The jacket was the same length all around, it had a vent at the back, there was a single pocket on one side and there's a breast pocket which holds his sunglasses. He was wearing pants which have the same color as the jacket, but a slightly different pattern and they made an ideal combination with his shoes. He had a sharp pair of fullstrap loafers. To top it all off he was wearing a stylish belt, which could be accompanied by a hat and a scarf. “Um, where am I?” “You are in the castle in the Kingdom of Aevum. We brought you here three days ago when they hit you with an arrow”. Three days ago? She must have slept for three days straight. It certainly did not feel like it. She could remember the pain like it was yesterday. “What exactly happened back there?” she asked. “Well, we registered a demonic activity near your house and went there. It was invaded by the Shade and their so-called demons. When I went inside, it was a mess. We helped your father and were fighting them when you came and got hit by a poisonous arrow which put you to sleep. Louis helped get you to safety while we fought them off. Later on, we found out that they were searching for something in the house. We brought you back here where we could heal you” he explained. Asya’s head was slightly dizzy and could not form out words fast. She was holding her hand on her head. After processing the information, she said: “Where are Louis and my father now?” “Unfortunately, mundanes are not allowed in the kingdom, so they are in the mundane world”. “Mundane?” “That is what we call humans”. It made sense to her now. A supernatural world that cannot be known to humans. She wanted to see if they are okay so badly, but she did not have the strength to do so. She still felt light-headed. “When can I go home?” she asked “This is your home now, Asya”. This is your home now. The words echoed in Asya’s mind. Has she finally found her place? A place where people would respect her and treat her as a person or will they call her a witch and burn her like in the movies? She wanted to believe she was in a good place, but so much had happened in the past days, she could hardly remember what normal life was like. She might be standing in her home, but a home without the people she loves.
