Alpha Nathan's POV
I pushed the door open slowly, finding Lisa seated on the edge of the bed. Her head lifted as I entered, her gaze meeting mine. Meeting her gaze, I swallowed hard as pain consumed me. I couldn’t believe it; I couldn’t accept the fact that tomorrow morning, she would no longer be with me.
Without saying a word, I sat on the bed beside her. My eyes roamed over her figure. The wound from the arrow had healed, but the memory of her sacrifice haunted me. She had risked everything for me, yet I had given her nothing but pain in return.
“Alpha Nathan, are you okay?” Lisa asked, and I nodded.
