“I had spies stationed at Cain’s pack house,” James revealed through the mind link, his voice laced with urgency. “Guess what they just reported.”
My heart skipped a beat. “What is it? What did they say?” I asked with curiosity and eagerness.
“They told me Cain left the pack house and went into the woods. They said they watched him shift into his wolf and sprint deeper into the woods. The two spies told me they couldn’t follow him because they didn’t know if it was safe, so they waited for him to come back.” James paused.
