Lisa’s POV My stomach twisted, and I slowly turned to see Maria standing by the staircase, her arms crossed. Her eyes held an unreadable expression, but I could tell she had numerous questions for me. “I just went for a run,” I said casually, hoping she wouldn’t press further.
