Bryson's POV
After the business dinner, Julian and I return to campus and slip back into the normal rhythm of dorm life. The whole thing feels like it happened in another world - the fancy suits, Richard's anger, Marcus and his knowing smiles, Julian drunk and vulnerable in the kitchen, and that drama he acted in the kitchen.
Back at school, it's easier to pretend none of it happened.
"So how'd it go with the family thing?" Danny asks while I'm unpacking my bag.
"It was fine. Just boring business stuff."
"And you and Julian? You guys seem... I don't know, different."
I shrug. "We're figuring things out."
"That's good, right? Maybe you two will actually be friends."
"Yeah, maybe."
