Chapter 1

Xyn POV "is this a good bye?" It was the only line I could spew out of my lips. My pale face could barely make a dent, my hands trembles and my anger steamed up as tears. "I owe you no explanation Xyn get on with this" his cold voice mutters as I exhaled softly, folding my lips. "Why?" There was no words from him, a relationship of 3 years was coming to an end with just a paper being signed. I ran my fingers through my hair and inhaled the densed air. My wolf, zira hollered and my eyes travelled through the glassy window. It was rainy, bad lucks always happens to me during spring. This was his way of saying, there was no us. I clenched my fist underneath the table. My heart bled and my mind became void of thoughts. He found his mate, that was his excuse and who was I? A fake mate. Just a few hours ago, returning from the hospital after receiving a devastating news, I met him with her, no other than a friend I could die for. Rather than being remorseful, he dragged me out to this place and threw a divorce paper at my face. "I don't have all day!" He barked and I shuddered where I sat, sniffing. His eyes glared at me, they were once filled with love but now it was hate, wroth, resentment towards me. I let out a sided smile and flickered my eyes. That smile turned into a sarcastic laugh that almost sent tears pouring out my eyes. This was the only way of feeling better and only a smirk came out of his lips. "What? Witch! You have no idea how lucky you are to have me in your life!" He spat and I folded my lips, nodding. His ring was still stuck in my hand and I pulled it out. "I'm so done with this!" I muttered throwing the ring at his face. His widened at me as he seems pissed. What! Is he expecting me to beg him? I am a princess and we bend to no one. Except the fact that I truly loved him and... "How dare you!" He brawl slamming his hand on the table. I was startled but remained calm, confused and only staring at the paper. "Are you missing me already?" I whispered trying not to flinch even though I was broken. If he'd say he was sorry, then I might have reconsider but then, he keeps hurting me the more. It seems as though a cat has held his tongue and only bewilderment flushes him. I couldn't take this anymore and I stood up, with a stern look at the sleek door. "Xyn! Who do you think you are?" He spat, the look on his face shrinks and I rolled my eyes with an expression of contempt. "A heiress and I'd show you that!" I bragged. He just lost his chance, if only he knows who I am, then he wouldn't belittle me. Of course, I'd show him that. All I had to do was return home and claim my inheritance, then come back and s***h his face with billions of dollars. Then we'd see who is fortunate to have each other. He almost grabbed my hand but I pushed him away, burning with so much rage in my eyes. I'd come back! This time with gold, and all the wealth. He scoffed unbelievably at me. His fingers raked his left brows as he inhaled deeply. "What? You worthless thing? A heiress?" He insulted like I was saying things out of proportion or because I was mad at him. "Believe it or not, I'd come back for you" I assured raising my shoulders high and I dash into the rain. *** Maybe I should never have said that when I never knew the state of the house. "You've just stained the family name!" He barked slamming his spoon on the table. Silence. My heart was too heavy as all I thought was his next statement. My mother's weary eyes bore into mine as it seems she had cried her eyes out even before I returned. My stepbrother, xaiver had a queer look at him as he hadn't touched his meal yet. "A divorcee! In the pack?" Father's rage went on and on. It was rare and rather than receiving solace, he only breaks my heart the more. I haven't said a word since my return. At first everyone avoided me like a leech and I sort out my room. After washing up to join the family dinner, I was welcomed into a pool of dejection. Even if my mother wishes to say a word, she couldn't because no one talk back at an alpha. "I'm only here for my inheritance" I proposed with stern look at the bowl of chowder soup which I haven't touch. Xavier burst into laughter just the way daven did. My mother let out a sad sigh like I was crazy voicing out my intention. It was obvious we were in a heated dinner but I wasn't willing to read the room. "What!" My father brawl like he'd strangle me with that statement yet I didn't look at him. "You've brought enough shame as it is upon us and you're talking about inheritance..." "Then what! Should I drop dead?" I cried unable to hold the anger back. My finger tips had turned cold. I threw my gaze at him, a storm brew beneath his eyes as his nose flares, his teeth jabbed. "You should have died that night then I'd know I have no daughter who is more than a curse" he cut in beneath his voice. Xavier purposely dropped his cutlery as he exhaled deeply and mother placed her palms on her forehead. "Please can you two stop?" Mother finally spoke in a low tone as we stared at ourselves in a heated glare. I pushed my chair back while standing up and ran to my room, heartbroken and shattered. Tears poured out of my eyes as I hide under my piano like a child, crouching myself and weeping. I should just leave, beg Devan, he'd listen and accept me back...no! I shouldn't be stupid after everything. It hurts so much. I didn't know how long I stayed in that position. The only sounds I heard were the hollows of the wind, the platters of rain drops and the clapping of my window. My thought was distracted when my room door flung open and I could hear heavy steps pacing in. A sudden fear gripped me as I went breathless. It wasn't dad, it was Xavier. Only his long legs where in sight and when he bent to look at me, I saw cynical gesture, one that reminds me of a villian. "Get ready xyn, he's here to take you home" Who was here?
