At 6:15 PM I was sitting on the couch. In the living room. Book in my lap. I knew this was the exact time Kyle returns from work. I sat in a way anyone who walks in would notice me. Either for my look or my smell.I’d showered. Done my hair. Put on perfume.
Gosh I smell so good.
A few minutes later, Kyle walked in he saw me.Surprise. Just a flash.
“Hi,” I said.
Smiling at him this is my first time smiling at him since this so-called marriage happened. He looked at me for a second. I could see it. How disgusted he was at me.
Like I was something unpleasant he’d stepped in.
“Hi,” he replied.
Then he walked past towards his room without saying anything else. And I sat there hoping and begging the ground to open and swallow me.
