Week 1 + Stary Writing Camp/Chapter 2: A Night to Remember

Upon seeing Ellie all Micah had to say was, “Jessie is upstairs getting a few last-minute things ready.” He then just walked away leaving Ellie alone in an open doorway. The first thought that came to Ellie’s mind was why are the most intolerable the ones blessed to be insanely attractive. Just then her friend came downstairs and looked at Ellie with the most excited look in her eyes and yelled. “Yayyy, Ellie, you’re here! Sean! Get the car, Ellie’s here!”

Ellie looked at her friend seriously confused. “The car? Jessie, I thought it was a pool party here, at your house?”

Jessie smiled coyly, “Yeah, that was kind of the point honey. We’ve got a much better surprise for you, you’re going to love it!”

Just then Sean rounded the corner to the doorway, “Late as usual I see miss Ellie,” he says in a teasing manner. “Come on, let's get going, everyone has everything set up and is just waiting for the birthday girl to show up.”

Jessie dragged Ellie out to the car. The girls sat in the backseat together and Sean and Micah took the front seats.

“Micah you jerk,” Jessie spat,” Ellie should be riding shotgun, she is the birthday girl after all!”

“Well too bad? Besides it’s not like she said anything.” Micah snapped back.

“Um excuse me? I have a name and I’m sitting right here! Just forget it Jessie, you should be used to Micah and his antics by now.” She just rolled her eyes at Ellie and pulled out her phone to check f*******:. Ellie decided to avoid something like the happening again she’d do the same. Not long after that, the car came to a stop. When she looked up, she gasped in shock and excitement. They were at the beach and there was a huge bonfire that light up the sand and sea. She looked over at her friend who was smiling just as big as she was.

“Surprise! Sorry Ellie if I had of told you where we were really going, your dad would’ve never let you come.” She explained, “I know your dad doesn’t let you go anywhere near the beach but I also know it’s your favorite place.”  

Ellie hugged her friend, her best friend. “Thank you Jessie, I have no idea what I did to deserve a friend as good as you!”

Sean chimed in, “yes, lovely, now enough with this girly sappy stuff, it’s time to party!” Micah just rolled his eyes and smirked at his friend’s childishness and they all made their way down to the beach. As soon as everyone saw Ellie and the others, they all yelled at the top of their lungs, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY,” And cheered for the birthday girl. It looked like everyone Ellie knew was there, she couldn’t be happier. As she started to mingle with the crowd and get into the mood of the party, Jessie suddenly appeared with two drinks in front of Ellie and pushed one into her hands. She looked at her friend with a quizzical look and asked, “what is it Jessie?”

“Just try it Ellie”

Ellie reluctantly tried the beverage and came to find it was a raspberry vodka. She was shocked her friend would give her alcohol she was still underage even if it was by just a few hours.

“Jessie! This is alcohol! I can’t drink this!”

Jessie just rolled her eyes at her over-cautious friend. “Don’t be such a party pooper, you’re literally just a few hours away from being 18! You’re fine! Now chug this cup with me and then we’ll get another. Come on Ellie! Chug! Chug! Chug!”

Once Jessie started chanting ‘chug’, it seemed as though everyone stopped what they were doing to join in the chant. Ellie had no choice but to chug the drink in her hand alongside her best friend, and as they did everyone cheered. As the night went on and the drinks kept flowing Ellie was having the time of her life. Everyone was dancing and throwing things on the fire and couples slowly started disappearing into the tree line. Ellie caught up with Jessie who was dancing with some guy Sean invited from work. “Jessie! Dance with me!” Ellie insisted, almost tripping over her own feet as she grabbed her friend. “Ellie! Can’t you see I’m busy working my magic on Blake here? You should go dance with a guy as well, you need it.”

“Hey what’s that supposed to mean?” Ellie whined

“Honey you’ve never even kissed a boy let alone had a boyfriend, it’s about time you went for it, that’s all. Go have some fun!”

Ellie furrowed her brow, “you know what, you’re right, what the heck lets do it!” Ellie looked around but not a single guy at this party piqued her interest, she suddenly remembered why she’d never kissed a boy before. Ellie frowned, “Jessie none of these guys are very kissable.” She slurred.

“Ellie, surely you find at least one of them attractive!” Even with how much Ellie had to drink she could tell Jessie was losing her patience.

“Well, there is one guy I’ve always thought was a real hunk…”

“Perfect go dance with him”

“Jessie, I thought we were friends, how could you tell me to go dance with Micah!”

Jessie just stopped and stared at me, I could tell she was confused. “You were talking about Micah? The icky brother's best friend Micah? You’re into MICAH?!”

“I wouldn’t say I’m into him… But he’s kind of the most attractive guy I’ve ever seen and the only guy here I would kiss”

Just as Ellie says this, she hears a voice behind her, “Well that’s good to know.”

Ellie just stopped and panic washed over her face, and she was suddenly stone-cold sobber. She was just praying her ears deceived her and it wasn’t Micah. However, as the figure behind her moved in front of her it was in fact, Micah. He looked at her amused and shook his head, “I can’t believe you haven’t had your first kiss. 18 and you still haven’t kissed anyone… that’s just sad Ellie.”

Was he really embarrassing her, in front of all her friends, at her own party? Ellie’s expression changed from embarrassed and regretful to bold and angry in a matter of seconds. The sudden and drastic change in her temperament caught him off guard and he was surprised when she spat back, “Yeah, is that how you feel? Well, Micah, I think being a tad innocent is better than the local resident man sl*t!”

As soon as people heard her shouting, they all just stopped and stared and after she put Micah is his place a clear and audible, “ooooooo,” passed through the group. Micah just stood there, shocked. Everyone loved him, no one had ever called him out like that before, he found it kind of hot. To add one final slap in the face, she walked across to where Micahs brother was standing, only breaking eye contact when she put her hand on Will's face, looked into his eyes. She stared directly into his crystal blue eyes and said loud enough for everyone to hear, “kiss me, Will.”

Will always wanted to kiss Ellie, he hoped this day would come. He knew she was using him, but he also hated Micah. So, in the end, it really seemed like a win, win situation to him. He looked to his brother, raised an eyebrow, and said, “let’s do it.” He looked back to Ellie put his left hand on her lower back and pulled her closer to him and held her face with his left hand and pulled her into a long, deep, and spiteful kiss.
