Ashley's Pov : Somehow, Aunt was right. I nodded. "Yeah. If he wants, he can make me a rogue. But he gave me a chance, so maybe one day he will forgive me. But Aunt... did I do anything wrong to them?" I asked, pointing at the neighbors. Aunt shook her head. "No, baby. Why do you ask?" "It feels like they're all mad at me. I mean, when I tried to talk to them and asked for help, they just ignored me, went inside their houses, and locked their doors. Why is that?" Aunt lowered her head sadly. "Baby, it's because your dad... umm... our Alpha, strictly ordered everyone not to help you in any way. He wants you to return to him, as you know." I smiled bitterly. "So that means even you can't help me?" Aunt stayed silent for a moment before replying. "No, baby. I will help you. I owe my life to your mom. She was the one who supported me when I needed it the most. And now I will help you no matter what. I am with you, Ash." I smiled and asked, "Then can you hold the baby while I clean the house?" Aunt nodded. "I can clean it for you if you want," she offered. "No, it's okay. From now on, I have to learn these things. I'll clean it myself, but please teach me how to do it." She nodded again. After a while, with Aunt's help, I turned the dusty, dirty house into a clean and livable home. It was such a relief. Now I could finally bring my baby inside. But there wasn't a bed, mattress, or anything soft for her to lie on. Aunt left for her duties after we finished cleaning. I sat on the floor with my little sister in my arms, waiting for Beta Uncle. He had said he would send milk and some things I would need to start my new life. I hoped he would send them soon because if my little one woke up, she would need milk. She must be hungry by now. Please, Beta Uncle. Send it soon. I kept wishing and praying that the baby would stay asleep until the milk arrived. But I forgot this was an unlucky day. The baby started crying. What could I do? I danced. I sang songs. I clapped my hands. But she still wouldn't stop crying. I didn't know what to do. I felt so helpless that I started crying along with her. What could I do? I was still just a kid. Suddenly, I heard a knock on the door. I hurried to open it and found several people carrying different items. A smile immediately appeared on my face. Wiping away my tears, I invited them inside. They placed everything in the house and even helped arrange it the way I wanted. Beta Uncle had sent a bed, a table, two chairs, food supplies, water, milk bottles, and milk. There was also a small card that read: "This is all I could help with. I'm sorry." I felt happy and sad at the same time. It's okay. This was already more than enough for me. Thank you, Beta Uncle. I carefully placed my little sister on the bed, washed her milk bottle, filled it with milk, and fed her. Then I suddenly remembered something. We had nothing to wear. What should I do? I had to sneak into the pack house and bring some clothes for both me and the baby. I knew Mom had prepared an entire room for her. She had bought different clothes, toys, and everything a baby could need. I waited until Aunt came back. I asked her to watch the baby for a little while. "I'll be back soon," I said. I didn't tell her where I was going or why. Then I left. After walking to the pack house, I stopped outside and stared at it. Memories of Mom and Dad flooded my mind. Tears rolled down my cheeks. Mom, I miss you. If you were alive, none of this would be happening. This isn't the life we dreamed of. I knew Dad would never let me inside. I was sure he had already ordered the guards not to allow me in. So I went around to the back of the house. I knew a secret way to enter without anyone noticing. I slipped inside through the hidden entrance. Then I heard voices. Dad was leaving. The moment I recognized his voice, I hid behind a large black trash container. This was the area where we kept garbage bags and unwanted things before the cleaners took them away. I heard the sound of Dad's car driving off. I was about to stand up when something in the trash caught my eye. Wait... What? My books. My school uniform. My clothes. Everything that belonged to me was thrown away there. I knew Dad had told me I was no longer his daughter. But seeing all my belongings tossed into the trash broke my heart all over again. Why, Dad? Didn't you love me? I cried silently. Then I suddenly remembered why I had come. I searched through the other trash bags, hoping to find my baby sister's things. And I was right. They were there too. Without wasting another second, I wiped away my tears and grabbed a large bag. I packed my school uniform, books, clothes, accessories, and anything else I might need. Then I gathered the baby's belongings. As I touched her tiny clothes and toys, memories came rushing back. Mom had chosen every single item herself. She always picked the highest-quality and most comfortable things. Sometimes Dad and I got annoyed because she was so picky. Not only that, but Dad had secretly bought clothes and toys for the baby too. I used to enjoy being on Dad's team. We never argued. We always understood each other. So why did this happen to us? What went so wrong? Then I remembered my little sister waiting with Aunt. Helping us meant going against her Alpha. I couldn't keep Aunt waiting any longer. I had to hurry. The bag was extremely heavy. I couldn't carry it properly, so I dragged it all the way home. After what felt like forever, I finally made it back. When I entered the house, Aunt was feeding the baby. Her eyes widened in shock. I explained how I had sneaked into the pack house and found our belongings in the trash. I told her I had brought back some of our things because we would need them. Why let them be thrown away? Aunt smiled and told me I had done the right thing. After she left, I ate some bread and drank water. I missed my home. I missed Mom. I missed having dinner with my family. I missed everything. Everything had changed in the blink of an eye. Just yesterday, we had been playing carrom together and having fun. Dad had made dinner for us. It was the most delicious meal I had ever eaten. But today... I was all alone. No Mom. No Dad. No one except my little sister. From today onward, I had to grow up. I had to become responsible. As the older sibling in our tiny family, I had to take responsibility for her too. I had never imagined living a life like this. In fact, I had never imagined my life without Mom and Dad. I had always dreamed of a happy family with my baby sister. I love her. No matter what happens, I will take responsibility for her. And I will prove that Dad was wrong from the very beginning. He made the wrong decision. I believe that one day he will regret it and want us back in his life. I just hope that day comes soon. I will fight through every hardship. I will never leave her side. I will fulfill my promise. I will show the whole world that I can be the best sister ever. I will give her as much love and care as I possibly can. I know I won't be able to fulfill her every wish, but I will always do my best to give her everything she needs.
