The silence after Rico left was deafening. Jax paced the apartment like a caged animal, jaw tight, hands clenched. Dani hadn’t moved from where she stood in the kitchen, her back pressed against the cold counter. Every part of her was buzzing with tension, fear, and that creeping sense of déjà vu.
