Chapter Twenty-Eight I’d like to think someone wanted me once. I hope my parents felt an ounce of joy when they found out I was on the way. I hope they were smart enough to feel panic and guilt, too. This is not a world children should be born into. Our world is full of pain, want, and blood. What hope could I ever have had for a peaceful life? But if I hadn’t been born, I wouldn’t be here to fight. And how many more would have suffered if I hadn’t agreed to face the monsters that torment us?
