The Shadow Packs Luna

Prologue Pt. 2

~Time skip: age 10~

It was the middle of the night well, day, since the south pack sleeps during the day when my grandpa wakes me up. I get up and follow him to his room. When I get there I see someone with completely red eyes meaning he's a full blooded vampire and I step back. I'm not scared, I'm just nervous.

I see the vampire come near me and crouch so that he's eye level with me. I see him hold his hand out and smile. "Hey little one, I'm Alex and you must be Lexie, right?" All I do is nod and look up at my grandpa.

"Don't worry Lexie, he won't hurt you, he's actually your cousin."

I look at him wide eyed and gasp, "my cousin?" I asked both confused and baffled but then I remembered I also have a little bit of vampire blood in me and sigh understanding. "So uh, why are you here?" I ask, more to the man named Alex, but it was my grandfather who answered.

"You're gonna be staying with him and his clan for a while." I look up at my grandpa confused hoping this was all just some sick joke but his face remained a serious expression and no signs of a joke appeared.

I sigh, finally understanding and believing, "why am I leaving, did I do something wrong?" I asked confused

I feel a gentle hand on my head and look up to see it was Alex. "No Lexie you've done nothing wrong I'm doing this to keep you safe, things are about to happen and I don't want you here when they do happen." I heard my grandpa say. I look down and sigh, nodding.

"Ok, fine, I'll go." I hear them both chuckle and for some reason I'm immediately put to ease when I hear Alex laugh.

I go and pack a few things while my grandpa and Alex talk. About 10 minutes later Alex opens my door and pops his head in, "you almost ready?" I turn to look at him and I nod.

He walks out and I follow him out. Without warning he picks me up. I'm not sure why but it doesn't really bother me. "We're gonna be going a long distance so try and get some sleep ok." I nod and slowly doze off as he starts running and I feel the wind against my skin.

When we get to the mansion I wake up and see a red eyed, pink haired vampire running over to me and Alex. "This is remy. She’s my mate and you’ll be staying with her tonight." he says then hands me over to remy and I fall asleep in her arms.
