After a few long days at school, it was finally time to prepare for the bonfire ceremony. 1 more day and it will be my birthday. The big 18. I've managed to avoid Phebe and Sebastián the last couple days of school. Rumors had it that Sebastián broke things off with her the same day we met. And knowing Phebe, she'd find a way to blame me for it. I took the last day today, Friday to prepare for the bonfire.

I went on hunting with my father and do some training with my mother. I finally gained enough skill to keep up with the both of them. I couldn't shift yet because I don't have my wolf, but I was skilled in making traps, and catching rabbit for the big feast. So far i had about 12. Not too shabby. I was also able to keep up with Helaina, she is faster then me, but our strength was the same, even with her wolf strength. Soon, once I meet my wolf, I'll become stronger then the rest of my pack graduates. I was the youngest out of all of them. That changes tomorrow.

Sebastián tried to come find me and speak to me a few times, but I made excuses to avoid being caught up in the drama. He said it was important, but I have alot of other things in mind at the moment. Like what am I going to wear to the bonfire? I gather the rest of my traps, and started my way back home. Father said it was time to pack up and head home, it was getting dark and him and his beta and a select few of our omegas were going out for some deer for the next day to come. I had a few more traps to get before I head home. I heard a twig snap, and it scared the outmost s**t out of me. I whip my head around but couldn't see past the darkening trees. I shuddered, and kept quiet for a moment. Another twig snap, it was closer this time. I froze. Immediately, I mind link with my mother and father, and I tell them there is something here. The only skill I have without my wolf.

Please hurry. I'm scared. I say to them. Dark had fallen already. I glance down at my watch, I had 45mins until my wolf was to come. Another twig snap, and a low growl comes from the front of me. Then I see 3 sets of eyes from the tree line, ruby red in color. Oh no. Please hurry, there's 3 of them glaring at me! I scream in my head. I hear my mothers and fathers wolves breathing heavily trying to get to me as fast as they could. Suddenly, I hear another growl from right behind me. Only a small squeak sound left my lips, and my hand flies over my mouth, scared to make any more sounds.

Slowly, I turn around, and see a pair of glowing emerald green eyes. An extremely large dark ash blonde wolf slowly steps out into the open, into my view. I drop to my knees, then curl myself into a ball, tucking my head as far into the middle of my legs as I can to protect my face and head. I waited, my bare back open to the 4 of them. what do I do? tears begin to well up and burn into my eyes. This is how Helaina lost her mother. Rogues.

A whisping sound of air whooshes past me, and I peak out from the inner part of my arm. The blonde wolf is standing in front of me now, glaring into the dark forrest of trees. Is he.. protecting me? I think to myself. I keep staring, squinting my eyes slightly, I see the red eyes get closer, and out steps 3 darkened and dirty brown wolves. I knew it, they were rogues.

A deeper low growl rumbles from the ash blonde wolf. He lowers his head and bears sharp teeth, drool dripping from each one, ready to fight.

HIDE. NOW!! He orders me. I sit up slightly, and find myself ducking and hiding from behind a tree, still close to the ash blonde wolf ahead of me. He is protecting me. Thank goddess!! I keep my eyes on the 3 sets of red eyes, in case they decided to split up and try to get me from behind.

I see the 3 of them begin to charge at the blonde wolf, not caring that he was much larger in size. The blonde wolf pounces, leaving giant paw marks into the damp earth below. Incredible I think to myself. I was scared of him at first, but now I'm so glad he's on my side! The 4 wolves meet, and you can hear the barking and growling from the fighting. I watch as the blonde wolf swiftly picks up the first brown wolf, and shake it vigorously, it's skin tearing under its teeth. Blood began to squirt from its mouth, and it begins to whine in pain. I look to the left of the blonde wolf, and see the 2nd wolf getting ready for another attack from the side.

"WATCH OUT!!" I scream, the blonde wolf turning its direction but it was too late, the 2nd wolf pounces, and lands on top of the blonde wolf, and began tearing at the fur on his back. Tears wells up into my eyes again, streaming down my face. He's going to die because of me. I glance down at my watch again, 10mins away from my first shifting phase.

As I look up again, I see a few small pools of blood coming from the back of the blonde wolf. The first wolf lay motionless, I think it's dead. A fast turn of the blonde wolf's head, he snatches the 2nd wolf from his back, snapping its neck. The 3rd wolf runs and flees, leaving the bodies of its companions behind. Limping, the blonde wolf glances at me, then takes off full sprint in the opposite direction.

"Let me help you!" I cry after him, but he was already gone.
