Cody still couldn’t believe he had a date with Andie. He felt like a teenager with his first one-on-one date. And he scored the hottest girl.
His parents were leaving in the morning for Florida. His mom gave him a little s**t for missing their last night in town, but he reminded her that she was going to be packing and that they had plans for dinner with friends. He also assured her he’d be down before long for the winter with them.
The idea of leaving churned in his gut as he drove to Amavita. He knew things with Andie were not likely to last forever, but he wanted to have as much time with her as possible. If they were still together when her house was finished, he’d think about staying until everything ended. If they weren’t together, it would be a great way to escape.
