Rachel pulled in a deep breath and closed her eyes. She was not going to fall apart over a guy she’d only known for a few weeks. It was ridiculous. She’d spent enough days crying over him. She hadn’t heard from him in over a week. They were done, and she needed to get over it.
She heard the front door open and pasted on a grin before heading out front. It was early so she knew it was just Aimee, but Rachel was still set on having herself pulled together. Nothing like wondering if your boss was unhinged to kick off the work day.
“Hey Aimee,” Rachel said when she saw her one and only employee.
“Hey Rachel. Sorry. I meant to be here a little early today. My boyfriend turned off my alarm by mistake.”
Rachel shook her head. “It’s fine. We’re not even technically open yet.”
