Sonny's p.o.v                         (Nightmare) "What's wrong with you!" Martha yelled with tears in her eyes. "I'm telling you to leave that bastard and be with me." I spat seriously. "I don't want to be with you. What I want is my freaking son!" She spat on top of her voice. "You will be with your son. As soon as you marry me and fulfill your wifely duties." I answered. She tensed then looked at me coldly.  "I hate you a lot jerk. You are worse than Jeremy. I was better off being beaten everyday." She whispered.                                      (End of nightmare) I woke up panting loudly from my sleep. My breath was badly labored and sweat drops were forming on my forehead. "Fuck." I whispered as I pressed my hand gently against my cheek. I had a terrible headache and that nightmare was always the cause of it. I slowly stood up and looked at the other side of my empty bed. Even though it was an impossible wish. I one day wished to wake up next to Martha's beautiful face or smile. "Like that would ever f*****g happen," I whispered to myself then walked to the mirror that was at the corner and gazed at myself carefully. "I'm not a bad guy. I'm just in love with her." I whispered to myself silently then tensed when my cell phone rang, startling me.  "Well let the day begin," I said while I turned and walked to the headboard where my phone was. I glanced at it for a second then smiled and answered. "Mother." "Sonny darling, how are you?" She asked cheerfully. "I'm great mum, what can I say?. Everything is just fine." I answered then looked at the clock on the wall. "And my darling daughter-in-law?" She asked. I kept quiet for a minute not knowing how to lie or respond to her question. "Son." She called softly. "She is great as well mum. She's actually an Angel." I lied sadly. "Sonny, this early in your marriage and you are already fighting." She said surprising me. How the hell did she know. I was sure that I had answered in my most calmest tone. "You are fighting right?" She asked loudly. "Mother please don't start." I pleaded softly. I knew how she was. If she was to start, I would end up spilling everything without holding back. "Look son, I didn't call to nag you or anything. I just called to tell you that I'm in town on business for two days. If it's okay with you, can we at least drink a cup of coffee together?" She asked. Was she kidding me? I was more than happy to have her come see me. "Sure mother, I will be more than happy to welcome you at home. You will find me waiting for you." I answered with a wide smile. "Son, aren't you going for work?" She asked in concern. "No, I will stay here waiting for you. And besides, I really do need to see you too." I answered honestly  "You don't have to make up a lie to me when I come that side." She whispered. I kept quiet for a second then sighed loudly. "What lie?" I asked pretending to be dumb. "I know something is wrong son. How could you tell me and your father that you secretly got married to a lady we have never met before?" She asked. "Mother I told you a million times, it's not and wasn't about you meeting her. I love her and married her, doesn't that count?" I asked loudly. "Fair point, but you know if you are lying to me, I will soon find out by looking into your young eyes." She said seriously as I chuckled softly.   "I really missed hearing those words from you." I said with a low sigh. "But mother, I'm now a man with my own house, those words won't work on me." I answered seriously making her burst out in laughter. "I just wanted to hear you laugh son, but don't worry, I will be there in no time darling." She said. "By no time you mean?" I asked softly. "I mean I'm walking towards your door as we speak." She said shocking me. "What?" I asked in nearly a scream. "You heard." She answered. I quickly disconnected the call and dropped the cell phone on the bed then rushed to the bathroom to clean my face and teeth. I hated how she usually did this. Whenever she said she wanted to visit, she meant that she was outside the gate. "Dorcus!" I called loudly when I came out of the room and dressed up. "Damn it. Dorcus!" I called again while I rushed downstairs. "Yes sir." She answered quickly as she approached me. "Tell Martha that my mother is at the gate. Also set the table now. We will be having breakfast together." I ordered. "Sir, The Madam went out of the house an hour ago." She answered seriously. I froze for a second then sighed loudly. "Very well. Just set the table for two." I said then rushed outside the house and to the gate. When I opened it. I smiled widely. She stood leaning against her car with a smirk. "Did I make you panic?" She asked in amusement. "Yes, you did." I answered then walked closer and embraced her happily. "You really don't change." She whispered then pulled back. "Oh well, I see no good in changing." I answered as I linked my hand to hers and walked in with her by my side. "How about dinner in the evening?" I asked softly. "That would be nice." She answered with a smile. It really felt good to have her visit. But for some reason, I felt bad and a little sad over Martha's action. How could she leave the house without a word. I knew she needed her space and yearned for the freedom that I took from her. But despite all that, I hoped that she would still show me some care and respect. I guess I was asking for too much. "Are you okay son?" She asked in concern. "Yes mother. I'm just very happy to have you here." I answered with a fake smile.
