"Useless necklace!" I screamed, throwing the pendant across the passenger seat while driving fast down the forest road.
The tires screeched a little as I pressed harder on the gas. Trees blurred past me, but I didn’t care. I just wanted to get far—far from Dark Crest Pack.
“Why did I even believe her?” I muttered. “Stupid necklace. Stupid magic. Stupid Alpha Jerry!”
I gripped the wheel tighter as anger burned in my chest. My heart was beating fast, not from fear, but from humiliation.
