Chapter 16Harry came to slowly. Her first awareness was of a pounding headache. A moment later, sore ribs also bloomed to fiery life. She groaned. Her chest tightened as she realized her breathing was restricted, not with the tightness that had cut off her consciousness, but with a smothering sensation. Her eyes flew open, but a film of rough brownness obscured her vision. What's happening? Voices resounded near her, but in her panicked state, she couldn't take in what they were saying. Calm down, Harry. Breathe. If you can see light through the holes in… whatever this is… you won't suffocate. Drawing air into her lungs with slow deliberation, Harry focused on the voices. “You understand my instructions?” a familiar voice demanded. Malcolm Fletcher, that slimy eel. What's he plotting now?
