Joana felt a surge of tension, mirrored by Michaela, who still held her hand firmly. Slowly turning around, she noticed Kendell approaching. Standing behind the podium earlier, she had not observed her attire, but now it was evident that her dress was unsuitably tight and revealing for a charity gala.
Additionally, Kendell's slightly intoxicated demeanor became apparent as she made her way towards them. Brushing past Joana indifferently, she headed straight for Sonia.
"Thank you so much for your donation," Sonia expressed, beaming and extending her hand for Kendell to shake.
Kendell responded with a lackluster, almost disdainful handshake, swirling the champagne in her glass. "It's my pleasure," she replied.
