A sinking feeling gripped Joana's heart as the attendant informed her that Michaela had left the training facility quite some time ago. Panic and concern coursed through Joana's veins as she quickly walked away, her mind racing with worry for Michaela's safety.
Dialing the penthouse phone number on her cellphone, Joana requested the concierge to connect her to Elijah's suite. She hoped that this was all just a misunderstanding and that Michaela was already safely at home. It was possible that Annie or Molly, her fellow babbysitter, had picked her up without informing Joana.
"Hello?" Lina's voice greeted her at the other end of the line after a few rings.
